Not to the extreme as Flanagan did, but as someone who deals with chronic pain for many years, I do find myself, at times, causing bodily pain away from the main area of pain I deal with. Kind of re-directing the brain away from the source. Like biting my lip when my back pain gets severe (as it does)

I saw Mott in 73 (Aerosmith opened) right after Grosvenor came in & although it was a great show (Seton Hall, NJ) I missed Ralphs guitar work. I later saw The Hunter Ronson Band several times & that was fun as well. I've got some great photos from the '73 show. I submitted several to the Smithsonian for their Rock & Roll book 92015). No idea if they published them. I had to sign releases when submitting. Mott,James Maddock, Aimee Mann, Todd Rundgren some others, maybe, I don't remember now.

He was a prof. where I went to school and he was trying to prove that light is slowing down, instead of the universe expanding (the "Lazy Light" hypothesis). Spent decades on it. Problem was, it didn't work, he ignored cricitism from people who knew more about astronomy (he was a mathematician) and he wound up completely isolated. There's certainly room for alternatives to the Big Bang but so far nobody has a theory that's worth a damn

Not to the extreme as Flanagan did, but as someone who deals with chronic pain for many years, I do find myself, at times, causing bodily pain away from the main area of pain I deal with. I later saw The Hunter Ronson Band several times & that was fun as well. I've got some great photos from the '73 show. I submitted several to the Smithsonian for their Rock & Roll book 92015). No idea if they published them. I had to sign releases when submitting. Mott,James Maddock, Aimee Mann, Todd Rundgren some others, maybe, I don't remember now.

He was a prof. where I went to school and he was trying to prove that light is slowing down, instead of the universe expanding (the "Lazy Light" hypothesis). Spent decades on it. Problem was, it didn't work, he ignored cricitism from people who knew more about astronomy (he was a mathematician) and he wound up completely isolated. There's certainly room for alternatives to the Big Bang but so far nobody has a theory that's worth a damn
