I was still on Long island then, so I'm sure our paths crossed. I didn't leave until '81. EARS!!! I booked them at my high school, Sachem, and the adminitration shut us down. I think it probably had something to do with Del Gazio beating on pots and pans, while wearing a welders mask. My memory is a little hazy on that.

I worked for a punk promoter in S.F. 80-83'. He booked a band nobody knew about called the Replacements. They came into the Temple (our venue at the time ). Blew the doors off the place. After their set I cornered Paul Westerberg and said "Who The Fuck Are You Guys". I will never forget the look on his face. A little sheepish, a little satisfied. Someone recently posted the clip of the Replacements appearance on SNL, they apparently spent the day drinking in the green room with Harry Dean Stanton. And yet their performance was spectacular, totally wired yet tight. Thought, whatever they were imbibing that night should be shared with more bands.
