happy stormy Monday, all!
Avatar 12:02pm

Call me crazy but I'm loving the storms

New Years Eve, we went to a fancy-shmancy restaurant in Burbank where the clientele can keep their wine bottles in a locker for every time they visit, and i saw one for "the Zappas."

Wonder what they keep in their locker - Lumpy gravy? Yellow snow? The mind reels...
Avatar 12:07pm

Wasn't Frank a teetotaler? Or was he just anti-drug?
Avatar 12:10pm
Mr Fab:

maybe so, but since it appeared to be for the family, who knows what the others are like. Who knows, shit might get crazy when MoonUnit starts hittin the sauce!
Avatar 12:11pm

She dated Marc Maron for a bit so she's probably sober too. Must be Dweezil...

Mr Fab:

ha, i remember this one from "the Bells." Lou's weirdest attempt to sell out. It's not even really a disco song..?
Avatar 12:15pm

I think post-junkie solo career might be might favorite genre

My friend once told me his favorite genre is "bad Lou Reed albums"

Homer would be happy to know that the Butthole Surfers named their pet dog 'Mark Farner.'

WARNING: Do not go see Grand Funk now

Mr Fab:

no orig members?
Avatar 12:32pm

They have two I think but they were soft as hell. One of the worst "legacy" acts I've ever seen
Avatar 12:33pm

David Alan Coe takes the prize for the very worst though
Avatar 12:37pm

Fun fact: this song was recorded live on the roof of a shopping mall

New Sensations might be my favorite 'bad Lou' album. Maybe because it was the first Lou album I bought when it came out.

I just found a minty copy of this Flo & Eddie album a couple of weeks ago but have yet to listen to it.

Simply Saucer - my fave album recorded in Canada there I said it.

It's not my favorite of theirs but it has some really solid moments. Have you ever seen their movie, Dirty Duck?

Yeah! I think it popped up on the yootoobs a couple of years ago. I should probably watch it again.

I for some reason always thought Simply Saucer were some 80s neo-psych band. I need to fully check them out.
Avatar 12:47pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Rich in Washington @12:45
incredibly, they formed in the early '70s. So ahead of their time that the album didn't come out til the late '80s.

What a potty mouth

Ah. Perhaps that's why. Forced Exposure magazine was my primary source of music info back in the day.

For some reason I really dig Punksploitation bands like Surf Punks, VOM, Plasmatics, Sick F*cks now.

Loves me some Surf Punks! Also love the Surf MCs - Surf or Die

↳ Song: "Stayfree" by "Feederz"
Avatar 12:56pm

If you've never seen their performance in Urgh! A Music War, you should seek it out immediately!
Avatar 12:56pm

I got to see Feederz at Gilman once. It was their first show back after being banned for over a decade

I must have missed this shows inauguration. Playlist looks great. Will be kicking around in future

everyone knew Surf Punks and Plasmatics were somewhat clueless posers, but there was something crassly entertaining about them. just couldn't tell your friends.
