Yes, Germany didn't have the blues and jazz traditions that the US and UK had, though a lot of those guys were certainly paying attention to what was being done in the West. Drugs definitely helped in branching out as well, I'm sure!

Yes, the hill country has a very huge German heritage and New Braunfels is a Germantown. So, yes, this festival goes on every year and it was packed and it's outside right by the Schlitterbahn water slide thing and it's right by the comal River right above it in the middle of town

I had bratwurst and sauerkraut, a funnel cake without powdered sugar and just lots of cinnamon on top of it, a big tall latte with coconut milk, and we had some cheese curd, fried cheese curd. It was all delicious everything we had and my friends of course had dark beer
