They have already given some short presentations about their country and one girl has brought her guitar and we were singing Ukrainian freedom songs. We have also prepared a little farewell party for one of the students, who was going back to Kiev. Song and dance. Good way to get their attention. :-)

I notice especially how U.S. usages are adopted without resistance in Oz. Not so much in the more traditionally minded U.K. whose English is scarcely able to distinguish between singular and plural. Total confusion about this has reigned there for centuries. Forced collectivization on the one hand, solitary confinement on the other, and all jumbled up together.

We have also prepared a little farewell party for one of the students, who was going back to Kiev. Song and dance. Good way to get their attention. :-)

Total confusion about this has reigned there for centuries. Forced collectivization on the one hand, solitary confinement on the other, and all jumbled up together.
