Every October, WFMU conducts its Year End fund drive, a.k.a. the October Hellraiser. The Year End fundraiser is very important for us since it gets us over the hump of the winter months – that drab time of year when the weather gets cold, the days get shorter, and funds are low. That El Camino on medson's playlist has such a history! After we finished roadie-ing for Sir Lord Baltimore in 1973, they ended up paying us in peyote instead of cash. It actually inspired us to strat our own business, running it out of Arizona. One of my first purchases after we were swimming in cash was that El Camino, and that became our main vehicle when we worked for Black Oak Arkansas.

When Spoony and I were both single before COVID, and we were doing 12midnight to 4am on WFMU's long-gone "Funk in the Trunk" stream, it was non-stop party with the women he would bring to the station. They all worked at his wild club called "Spooning" in Bushwick. The cops ended up shutting it all down.
