@doctorjazz I saw Forrester w/the Microscopic Septet (incl FMU’s Dave Sewelson) on a livestream from Small’s a couple of weeks ago. I believe he’s been living in Europe these days. Kinda ridiculous to cancel a gig because there “might” be a thunderstorm. In the summertime, there’s always a chance of thunderstorms.

@Jeff-I'm a big Micros groupie, try to catch them whenever they do these "reunion" gigs. I was at the Late Show at Smalls, also saw them at The Jazz Forum in Tarrytown, 2 sets, the Sunday before. Forrester lives in France, Johnston lives in Australia, so they only get together when they all come to the US for whatever reason. I did get to see Forrester solo last summer (he did a gig in Bryant Park, very nice; I believe he'll do that again sometime this month before he returns to France). Haven't caught him with his own group, though, which was the plan last night. (he'll be playing with his quartet in the Woodstock area tonight, and has a show in the area somewhere tomorrow I believe, but I won't be able to get to them.
