...one very good thing about the Gaylord Fields playlist Directing
...it may not be 100% unfamiliar - but I know for sure I ain't gonna feel I seen this Movie too many times before & I know where it's going for sure...
Welcome, Joe R.! There's always a weak-link character in every heist film. I guess you can be the guy who passes out in his backyard and unravels the entire caper.
I was listening to Graham Nash at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center Old Saybrook CT from July 19th but I realized Gaylord's show was on so I paused that & switched over to this...
When I was a kid PBS had the International Animation Festival - & there was a cartoon used Jorge's 'Umbabarauma'. Wondered who that was for like *decades* !

Can't say no to Indonesian funk.

Although this seems to moved more into a disco mood, which I think I prefer. This bass player is great.
Inspired by the soundtracks of 70's Indonesian movies and classical jazz of the 1930s, White Shoes & the Couples Company feature suitable old strings arrangements and retro synth disco sounds in their talented songs
As one generation lived thru the Depression & War - mine had to survive several years of the worst of the Disco genre. I'd say there's progress with the trauma...
Always...: Nature inclines one to think - yeah - one night RoyOrbison sang like this & made a record. Then ...sees Concert footage. NO. He sang like this EVERY NIGHT. Cause RoyOrbison.
@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Well said about him and his vocal prowess! Roy always sang as if the world's survival depended on him delivering a perfect peformance.
I've lost touch with a lot the pop singer songwriter scene. I've heard about Sharon Van Etten for years but haven't heard her. What I HAVE heard of that scene for years is a lot of reverb. Not complaining. It's just a thing I noticed.
I think I was right with my timing of breaking out the weed

This has been a great show. Having been through one of the roughest couple of months in recent memory, I appreciate Gaylord very much. Very much a respite (which I think I mentioned last week).
Just kicking back, listening to Gaylord and remembering why I usually refuse to read news on Sundays as I read about my state in the Wapo. (It's never good when Nebraska makes the national news.)

I should keep track of how many records end up on my Discogs want list on Sunday evenings.

Hi Gaylord, I've only just been listening the last 15 minutes, just got off work. But this is reeeeally cool.
Hi. I see that Roy Orbison's, "It's Over" was aired. A "friend" of mine played it constantly after my ex & I split up.
He enjoyed my misery.
Great song.
Thanks Gaylord for a lovely soundtrack for what turned into a lovely evening here in Milwaukee (feels like the the heatwave broke here, hope that bodes well for you on the east coast)
