Jan, with 1959, aren't you breaking to under 64 not allowed rule? Any particular reason you decided to include 1959? This release? Not a big deal, just wondering.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am
Jan Turkenburg:

It's a 1959 release, but the recordings of which this mix-track avant la lettre consists are mostly from before 1959
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:12am
WR:

Looking at the discog link, it is with que sera and the previous dixieland track that I am sure of where we are. Are you playing the whole LP or the B side only?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, I played the Side A last week, but something went wrong with converting, so the sound quality left much to be desired. I'll be re-airing it soon
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:15am
WR:

Ah, didn't listen to last week's program so attentively.

btw , the name of that file is Mazel Tov, but it doesn't sound like the pieces named Mazel Tov I know...

Mentioning to help me remember to look later, I recently saw for the first time a photo of Connie Boswell in a wheelchair. If I remember correctly it was in reference to some transcription recordings. I'm not a Boswell specialist but this was the first such photo I recall. All the more interesting because she was singing in a recording session.

Was not aware of Buddy Weed before, pianist who worked with several big bands according to discog.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:44am
WR:

Discogs also says Tommy Kay on guitar. Also worked with several big bands. This is nice and makes me think all the great music makers hardly recorded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am
Jan Turkenburg:

Lots and lots of great music was never recorded indeed.
