	🚂 ♥ 1:42pm Handy Haversack: It's all a matter of enforcement. Some weeks the street cleaner doesn't even come by. Today, a stream of water was running down the gutter from a fireplug that a construction sites has opened, making the street cleaner superfluous. I would say it was able to hit maybe 20 percent of the block. Since there were cars on either side of mine, I didn't move when it came. But this has never been about sanitation. It's about revenue for the city. But since they have to pay the people who hand out the tickets, there's some hidden calculus about when it's actually worth it to send them out to ticket. No one came down the block today. But they can still ticket at any point in the enforcement hours, whether the cleaner has come (or ever comes) or not.

Cop mayor just put us back to four times a week (twice on each side of the street). Old-school wealthy neighborhoods are usually once per week. But the gentrification here hasn't reached a point where it's greasing the right palms. Just to the point where there are way to many cars to git into the spots available -- which are lessened always by construction of yet more condo bldgs.

	🚂 ♥ 1:42pm Handy Haversack: It's all a matter of enforcement. Some weeks the street cleaner doesn't even come by. Today, a stream of water was running down the gutter from a fireplug that a construction sites has opened, making the street cleaner superfluous. I would say it was able to hit maybe 20 percent of the block. Since there were cars on either side of mine, I didn't move when it came. But this has never been about sanitation. It's about revenue for the city. But since they have to pay the people who hand out the tickets, there's some hidden calculus about when it's actually worth it to send them out to ticket. No one came down the block today. But they can still ticket at any point in the enforcement hours, whether the cleaner has come (or ever comes) or not.

Cop mayor just put us back to four times a week (twice on each side of the street). Old-school wealthy neighborhoods are usually once per week. Just to the point where there are way to many cars to git into the spots available -- which are lessened always by construction of yet more condo bldgs.
