Hi Carol, thanks for the Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld (singer from the experimental industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten), good stuff.

Also, you should check out some Alva Noto and Blixa Bargeld. Bargeld means cash. :-) But I believe his pseudonym is an homage to the dadaist artist Johannes Theodor Baargeld.

I have just read and didn't know that he was also a founding member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. :-) Busy man.

@john_zilla, good question. I've just looked up the origin of the word 'bar', from old Germanic 'pure'. For example, 'barfuß' means 'barefoot'.
So, bar is bare... Connection to money, I don't know. Maybe the stage after barter trade? :-)

The Gambia has an apocryphal story that it's frontiers were delineated from the distance the British navy could fire a cannonball from the Gambia River.

It is one the few nations to have an article of a noun preceding it in its official English name.

There are 3 different english traductions of the french novel la Disparition by Georges Perec : A Void (Gilbert Adair ) ; Vanish'd! (John Lee) ; A Vanishing (Ian Monk) .

@Robm @8:09, oh? what happened? (sry I'm in the dark, the last court case I have watched - eagerly! - is Depp vs Heard) :-)
Anyone's opinion on that one, please, I am interested!

@RB, this is so wonderful, much cherished, thx for sharing. My dog is dreaming passionately to it! :-)

@Foutracbaldisco: Ah, maintenant je comprends. La disparition. -- _A Void_ in English translation. Perec, in the Oulipo group, was interested in constrained writing. A novel without using the letter e (commonest letter in French as in English; tough to work entirely without). That's called a lipogram. Like the 1939 US novel _Gadsby_.
