Hi there Otis!

Otis:

Stepped in on the BBC Combo, lovely sounds by De Zusjes. I do have an affinity for small choirs and nuns singing and the like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, we share that. :-)
Avatar 12:26pm
Otis:

We sure do, going back years Jan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Fun fact: I made a long walk with one of the members on this recording of De Herghezangertjes. He's 53 years old now :-)
Avatar 12:34pm
Otis:

Nice walk and flashback.

I realized today that I DJ at weird times for my timezone. 12am and 8am.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm

So this is rare because it's an hour where people are not asleep

Hi Darryl
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm
MHLee:

I wonder what the context of that Moorcock book is... I'm to recall he's an anarchist
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
Jan Turkenburg:

The pictures have no specific relation with the lyrics of the song they accompany.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I always loved to play the flute part of this. It was a tough one to master for me back then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
Jan Turkenburg:

The harmonies weren't easy for our choir as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm
MHLee:

This is so much better than contemporary Christian music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
MHLee:

I did 3 hours of Jesus Rock and Private Press. I have the recording saved somewhere
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Jan Turkenburg:

You might want to revisit that playlist here at Sheena's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Jan Turkenburg:

A little "My Way" squeezed in here.
Avatar 12:54pm
worldsworstrecords:

Does that yellow Dog cover predate the Doors' LA Woman inner?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I don't know, Darryl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
MHLee:

Seem to recall my way came from France then they had a bunch of people right lyric for it. Bowie actually got sent it, wrote terrible lyrics by his own admittance then heard Frank use different lyrics and realized who he was doing lyrics for
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
MHLee:

*write
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Jan Turkenburg:

And then he wrote a different melody on the same chords and "life on Mars" was created.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
MHLee:

Exactly
Avatar 1:08pm
Otis:

Your DJ!
Avatar 1:10pm
worldsworstrecords:

I liked that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-) I'm going to pick up making those again, now I have a bit more time (I'm leaving Radio Focus). This was the first in about two years. I had forgotten how much fun and energy it generates.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
MHLee:

I have some odd attempts at mixes and music floating around
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm
MHLee:

I'm considered talking them all and mixing them into a single track
Avatar 1:14pm
worldsworstrecords:

They're hardly Telly Savalas, are they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:=)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Jan Turkenburg:

@MHLee, I'm encouraging you to do so and let us hear the result!
Avatar 1:15pm
Otis:

If they had some rubber bands or bits of string, possibly they could channel Telly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm
MHLee:

This type of chord progression always gets to me ^ Als
Avatar 1:24pm

HE'S IN THE NIP!
Avatar 1:36pm
Otis:

Sounding great Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
MHLee:

I 100% didn't realize AGAPE was not pronounced A GAPE as in CAPE because what on Earth is AGAPE?
Avatar 1:40pm
worldsworstrecords:

did you think it was as in 'agave'?
Avatar 1:41pm
worldsworstrecords:

Ah-Gah-Pay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I pronounced 'Lam Gods" (Lamb of God) as Appels (Apples), because that's what I heard everybody singing. I though we were singing how God created everything including our food...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Another flute melody I liked to play back then
Avatar 1:43pm
worldsworstrecords:

yay! Beatle (book) cover!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm
Jan Turkenburg:

This was being used as a substitute for "Our Father"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm
MHLee:

I only attended mass once when I was in Ireland in 2018. I seen Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and non-Denomination Protestant services
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm

When I walked through the Louvre, I was struck by how many depictions of the crucifixion there were
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Cheers, Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm
MHLee:

@Feldy I imagine the socially acceptable way to paint a half-naked man has appeal to those working on anatomy
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:00pm
Feldy:

@MHLee totall. There's that, and also the patronage for art was often the church (or the Medici's)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
