Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

Fred-No, I was on the Atlantic side. I did hit places in St. Augustine and Jacksonville, plus did two record shows, one in J-Ville and one in Gainesville! I wanted to hit Orlando but wasn't able to get down there but I will on the next trip.

Fredr-The Dead had several originals in their arsenal around this time but for some reason went with a number of covers on that first album. I hope they someday do an expanded version of this LP and include some of those lost gems.

I was playing a Stan Kenton LP when I remembered your show was on. It was recorded in the Rendevous Ballroom at Balboa Beach where Dick Dale was the big thing a few years later. Kenton gets loud but isn't really my thing, although I got the record for 99 cents.
