This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

Flash, one of my first thrift store finds many many years ago was a 45 of Haunted House by The voices of Walter Schumann. It's all scratchy, which only adds to it's other worldly charm.
Avatar 7:10pm
Flash Strap:

oh, i'd like to hear that Franco
Avatar 7:11pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

HyperD et al why TY ! ...better than me moaning perhaps you mean :D ...
Seriously I think I take rather too much space in FMU chats half the time...
Since I am all Interneted Up now with a Google brand Android device from the Safelink program & all - I got the Naturscope channel streaming a lovely shoreline along with this...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm

I will sent it to you via mental telepathy.

Cliff in such fine form here, the voice is gold, and it could not be more perfectly mic'ed

George Martin was still all jealous of Norrie Paramor in 1959 we suppose...

Heard what I think was my first Cliff Richard song not too long ago. True Love Will Come to You is a masterpiece.

@Hyper: from Listen to Cliff! excellent track
Avatar 7:18pm

@Franco: [websearches] ...ah, not the Country 'knew I moved to a haunted house' tune - but something indeed more spectral...
Avatar 7:18pm
Flash Strap:

Hey Captain! there's something eerily out of all time(s) about them
Avatar 7:19pm
HyperDose:

One of the few tracks where I prefer the mono version. Much of what I hear on FMU is for the first time. Grew up on stereo, so when I hear a great song in mono and it makes an emotional impact, that's the version I end up preferring.
Avatar 7:20pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Got (for next to nothing) a used box of two GerryAnderson's 'Thunderbirds' movies - was surprised & delighted to see in one the entire band of Cliff & the Shadows featured - as puppets...
Avatar 7:21pm

HyperD - may I suggest the Mono Mixes of TheBeatles' 'Ticket To Ride' - & well, the Sgt.Pepper album...

Yusef Lateef on this track, I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm
Franco Twinkie:

RR, for years, before instant searches I thought it was just some piece of random weirdness. Of course like so many things peculiar, WFMU enlightened me about Walter Schumann and his work.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:27pm

Yes Evan, Yusef Lateef playing the alto solo, Doug should appear momentarily to confirm.

Hey WR!
Avatar 7:30pm

Oh goodness...I-I was never really a Beatles fan. 🙈 More a Stones guy. But I have heard a few gems, in addition to respecting them greatly for pioneering the rock movement and stumbling upon clever recording techniques we still use today.

Hi Flash!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm
Franco Twinkie:

Hyper, I liked them both when they both infected the radio 24/7. Of course what I really liked about the early Rolling Stones was their look.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:34pm

hmmm. My ears mislead me, the discog credits says Lateef on tenor

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 7:37pm

And it might be Eclipse from that same album that Lateef has the solo. I remember that one of the solos I like a lot and for many years thought it was Dolphy and then reading detail liner notes found out it was Lateef. Like I wrote, Doug S. will set us straight.
