echinacea-elderberry tea with ginger, lemon (FRESHLY SQUEEZED) and honey. a bit of blackstrap molasses helps too.
(and you can't just drop a hunk of ginger in. either juice it, or use powder. powder works fine)

how big was the Marshall, Zoe? I'd point you to a Fender Blues Jr. or Mustang as a workhorse box, but I favor small amps. I got a small Vox (under 300$) with stimulus money that is pretty loud.

my main amp is a reissue of the Ampeg Jet. If you're at home you can get some really good sound with something like a Roland Cube. I've used that for demos.

ideally if you're looking at practice amps don't get a really cheap one. I use the little Airline / Danelectro 18w onstage with an acoustic guitar, built-in tremolo is a plus.

- only because it was given to me. Marshalls are for being Loud - & I love it has Gain & that Marshall Roar, you know ? But practice amps are for delivering @ lower volume - so it's kind not wholly one thing or the other... It is also hella *noisy* you use any Gain @ all, which of course I do... I actually worry I'm deafening myself with this mere practice amp in my living room...

when i had a plot (or 2, or 4...) in the community gardens here it flooded every year, over 6' deep some years, and all kinds of stuff would float over and come to rest in my garden when the waters subsided...
including a sitar!
but it was in really bad shape and i used it as an ornament -which someone stole.

F2, this one is a Brother machine. My last one was a Janome that I inherited from my grandma, but it was on its last leg for a while. I used a 1920s Singer featherweight for years until I received that Janome. THAT is a beastโ€ฆ I donโ€™t think it will ever break! Iโ€™ve sewn sooo many different materials with that machine and itโ€™s like butter!

I actually have two capes in the works, Chili! One is a rainbow cape and one is a golden โ€œSun King โ€œ inspired beauty! Take yer pick!!

Got to handle a Sitar only once. Unlike gittar, the frets arch up over the neck - so you can press in & out too ! & ups can of course bend those notes up & down just a crazy amount. Yo wear a little thimble cage on your picking finger - with your pocking hand thumb rooted in one place. & you actually oil your fretting fingers - opposite of Gittar !
But you don't use Vibrato, I was surprised to be told. It's considered making the note 'impure' in that tradition.
& they just scintillate. My Gittar afterwords seemed like the dullest brick in the world.

Coelcanth -- nope. But you wanna hear the best part of this story? Turns out my wife had a Romper Room 45 with my picture on it in her basement during her childhood. We only realized it after we were married for 4 years and her mom cleaned out the basement.
