Yep, broadcasting from "Casa Currents" for one more week.

Seems to me
that we’ve learned
how to turn our vote
into a weapon.
  4:08am LiXiviated Life:

Votes are cast
like bricks.
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:09am fred:

Most of my friends won't vote this time, they're too disgusted by Macron
  4:12am LiXiviated Life:

I don’t think votes are cast for the best ideas or policies
Votes are cast
to take out
the opposition
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13am Scott67:

Politics now isn't about voting for who you want to win. But voting against the one you don't want to win.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14am Brian D:

Sadly ture, Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14am Scott67:

The least worst option is the one to vote for. Or extremists win.
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:15am fred:

G'day Scott! How was Trash Cult? (Assuming your remember any of the reopening night)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15am Brian D:

Here in the US, we're stuck voting for "the lesser of two evils." Thing is, "evil" gets normalized.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16am Scott67:

G'day Fred! It was great mate, 2 fantastic Bands Friday night. Fully remembered, I'm only drinking light beer now. Livers orders!
🍻😎🤙
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:17am fred:

I remember a T-shirt in the '90s that read "Cthulhu for president: why settle for the lesser evil?". I always regretted not buying that one
Avatar 4:18am Kamp Climax:

Here in the US a voter in Wyoming has an atomic bomb, while voters in more popolous states have a bb gun
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am Scott67:

Voting here is compulsory. I can't comprehend people abstaining.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21am Brian D:

True @Kamp. @Scott, I always laugh when US media highlight "disappointing voter turnout" in other countries when even poor turnout in other countries is far higher than normal turnout here.
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:23am fred:

re: genocide trial, about ten years ago, I worked on software that was used to disguise the voice of witnesses in the Rwanda trial. I used readings of Howl by Allen Ginsberg to test it (it tended to drift over time so that the real voice came through, so I needed a long voice track)
  4:23am LiXiviated Life:

Im hanging on to hope.
I will continue to inch my way
to the center of this yawing ship of state
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:27am fred:

@Brian: A factor is that voting happens on Sundays here, and there are so many polling stations that voting doesn't take that long
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30am Brian D:

@Fred, I wonder if everyone read Howl if there would be any genocide... And, you're right, Sunday voting would help here. Our government puts up impediments to voting.
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:35am fred:

OK, I'm off to vote
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37am Brian D:

Vote well. Or as well as possible.
  4:38am LiXiviated Life:

@ fred
Vote with care.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41am Scott67:

Avatar 4:42am Fox:

I've been listening in my basement laundry room. Thanks for keeping me going, Brian!
  4:45am LiXiviated Life:

@Brian D
A person should
come to poetry
with intention.
It requires
that you bring
an open heart.
A poem will yield
only as much
as you bring to it.

If everyone just read Howl, there’d be nothing but more confusion, argument and chaos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46am Brian D:

Hi Fox!

First Person Singular
by Murakami
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53am Brian D:

Loved Murakami's "After Dark." Did you write in Tintin, Fred?
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 4:56am fred:

@Lix: I've never read Murakami. I tend to avoid translations, and (to my long held regret) I don't know Japanese
@Brian: No, I might need something stronger than coffee to cleanse my palate after voting for that guy. But I'm all out of Glen Passaic, and the Stork Club opens in a while...
Avatar 4:57am Toutevoix:

speaking of book, just worked on one, so I can say My book One shot ( incredible for me to say ) just came out!....A dialogue about real time composition in dance, and well I'm quite happy about it even if I don't have it yet )))

  5:00am LiXiviated Life:

I’ve thought lately that influence is how things change.
Disruptions of football games will not change behavior unless your goal is to aggravate sports fans.
I’ve come to think that actions like those in the Guardian article are more the person involved than the cause.
Then again, what do I know.

Re: books, I've been slowly taking in a fun sci-fi adventure by Cat Rambo called "You Sexy Thing". I expected something w/more of a comedic tilt given the title, but it's still quite entertaining.
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 5:09am fred:

@Toutevoix: I just ordered it. I love Meg Stuart, even though I haven't seen her in years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10am Brian D:

Félicitations Toute! @Lix, I think the point is to get people thinking about these issues. If even one person leaves the football match and researchers climate change, that's a win. And hello Ike! I've not read Cat Rambo.

@fred keep up the good mood!!! nice of you about the book , I don't have it yet not even saw how does it looks stamped, hope a nice surprise, well I could share a copy with you, when I will receive some ....!

About today, I feel trapped inside a loop ( inside the mouth of darkness maybe a story that loops on & on ) anyway, just wanted to tell you I climbed the minor alps ( thanks for the disc you suggested I got there ) named Ventoux again, bike therapy helps me like music does, so....I hope for better days ♡
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25am Brian D:

My pleasure @Lix. Love that Jherek Bischoff record.

  5:27am Vincent Nifigance:

Absolutely amazing Blackstar cover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am Ikė:

The SF/fantasy author Ann Leckie recommended this book — before that I had not heard of Cat Rambo, and I would’ve incorrectly assumed they were a cheesy airport action novel author. But the book is fun and thoughtful, with aliens that are actually kind of alien, something you don’t see too much.
Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 5:33am fred:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 🗒 Swag For Life Member 5:39am fred:

@Toutevoix: Do you know Arthur Perole? I saw his solo this week and came away impressed by some of it. It's a ludicrous take, but he reminded me of Brice Leroux
Avatar 5:40am Toutevoix:

@fred Ahah yes I survived this one!! ( so I don't feel so old yet....even if my birthday is the day after tomorrow, the fatidical 26 april Tchernobyl memorial day = double anxieties arghhh!) the worse is the wine you drink the day before ( I recommend a light white wine no bubbles at all! or a côtes de nuits to sleep well before the climb ))) well.... suddenly I'm thirsty, let's put up a little more the volume and cook something and drown into a bottle so I escape the news today
