If you like The Fifth Dimension albums another wonderful album from that period is Johnny Rivers’ Rewind album. Most songs written by Jimmy Webb with same Fifth Dimension production team. Great vocals. Love that album!

I met John Hendricks once and he was incredibly sweet. He told me that he wrote the lyrics to a Monk tune (I can't remember the exact one at the moment, I think it was about Monk's wife) in the Monk family's living room in 20 minutes one afternoon.

The GIZMO was purely mechanical. It was a bar mounted over the strings that bore 6 constantly rotating wheels that would 'bow' the strings as long as you held it down to maintain contact. It sounds synthetic, mellotron-like, but it's as primitive as can be.
