I passed by The Odd Fellows Temple which had it's doors wide open, so I just walked in. The Super Heroins were on stage. As you know, they were really proto-goth. The lights were all the way up and the place was only half full. Eva was swishing around like a disembodied spirit while the drummer was stabbing at the air with a red plastic devil fork. I don't think he was trying to be funny, but that's exactly how it came off. They were awfully good.

He claimed to regularly receive e-mails meant for the "real" Kenny G. and would read them on the air over crummy light jazz, and they were hilariously insipid. And then he would do things like play an entire year's worth of AM radio weather reports in a 3-hour show, which was strangely entrancing, or 3 hours of screaming, or moaning. The quintessential WFMU show, sometimes totally unlistenable, but you had to love that it was there. Well, I did anyway. www.wfmu.org...

(Kenny G the saxophone player is and always was 100% unlistenable) then one day i tuned in for a minute just to see -as i always did -and he was reading the tax tables. i turned it off and that was the last time i tried. i too was glad it was there, but it got to a point that the waste of 3 hours of valuable air time didn't outweigh a barely clever concept.

Brings to light the state of NY and Penn Station Area redevelopment where 40+ buildings are being demolished for Vornado Real Estate campus and business district. For WFMU tonight and tomorrow 3/14 & 3/15 is a request for blast from the funky past of Modernism Tower of Power! They are playing live at Sony Hall Hell's Kitchen on W46th St. in the Empire State Development area that includes Penn Station Area. Oakland natives and SFO know all about gentrification and falling to ruins so hope this shout out helps. I have the green WMFU T shirt swag and am going to the 3/15 concert for a HK Penn Station Area community outreach project and video. I will be requesting "Knock Yourself Out" to go out to Vornado Real Estate Trust and NY State for Penn Station Area Public Service Announcement. I passed by The Odd Fellows Temple which had it's doors wide open, so I just walked in. The Super Heroins were on stage. As you know, they were really proto-goth. The lights were all the way up and the place was only half full. Eva was swishing around like a disembodied spirit while the drummer was stabbing at the air with a red plastic devil fork. I don't think he was trying to be funny, but that's exactly how it came off. They were awfully good.

And then he would do things like play an entire year's worth of AM radio weather reports in a 3-hour show, which was strangely entrancing, or 3 hours of screaming, or moaning. (Kenny G the saxophone player is and always was 100% unlistenable) then one day i tuned in for a minute just to see -as i always did -and he was reading the tax tables. i turned it off and that was the last time i tried. i too was glad it was there, but it got to a point that the waste of 3 hours of valuable air time didn't outweigh a barely clever concept.

They are playing live at Sony Hall Hell's Kitchen on W46th St. in the Empire State Development area that includes Penn Station Area.
