A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

so many online movie-watching options. The Metrograph in NYC alone gives you options that are curated on an on-going basis. Criterion obviously quite good. Hey Trouble! Definitely get Criterion, you won't regreat it. I was getting ready to email you about this actually: they currently have a "Reggae in Film" series, with Harder They Come, Rockers, etc- anyway I watched a movie in that series called Babylon, from 1980. You turned me on to that Lovers Rock movie last year, and I think Babylon must have had a heavy influence on Lovers Rock, it works very similar terrain. It was banned/supressed at the time and just recently resurfaced...

Elevator to the Gallows ... a true Bklyn tale from the 70s that only came out in the 201??? .. the older brother of a friend was having an affair with the lady from the candy store (jukebox, pinball, egg creams) .. her husband, a low level mafia dude, found them grouping in the back room after closing. They killed him (self defense?) and dumped him in the trunk of his car in Coney Island... The cops thought it was part of an ongoing feud as a # of mafia bodies were found around then. The guy must have told somebody at somebody because 30+ years later, someone told the cops .. he got arrested, but the story then fell off the radar? Charges dropped??? Self-Defense? Time limits???

Remember, everyone (not specifically aimed) that YouTube is *ever worse* than Amazon (or just as bad; out here in the lunatic fringes of evil, it's hard to distinguish). It's profits are made from hate speech, radicalization, pedophilia, and surveillance. I do anything I can to avoid sending any traffic there.
