HI DJ Georgy Girl!
Avatar 3:00pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Hello everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Mr Fab:

THanks for the preceding hour of wonderful awfulness, Darryl, and for pushing the necessary buttons for GG.
Avatar 3:01pm worldsworstrecords:

No GG tonight Mike... just me squatting in her spot
Avatar 3:01pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Brian Bennett and the Hawk. Nice. I'll listen in.
Avatar 3:01pm worldsworstrecords:

No problem, Mr F. My pleasure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Jan Turkenburg:

never been good at multi tasking
Avatar 3:01pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi there PK
Avatar 🎸 3:02pm Domenic:

This 1st track is great! with the sitar
Avatar 3:02pm worldsworstrecords:

It is pretty great, isn't it Domenic?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Otis:

Ready, Steady... Bennett!
Avatar 3:02pm worldsworstrecords:

Hey there Otis!
Avatar 3:02pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I have been working on enlarging my collection of library music the past couple of weeks. So much new sounds...
Avatar 3:05pm worldsworstrecords:

That can get to be a very expensive habit, PK
Avatar 3:06pm worldsworstrecords:

I love library music too, and its almost all thanks to Georgy and this show
Avatar 3:07pm Paper Kosmonaut:

@ Darryl: I know. But for now I have a lot to keep myself busy with and figure out more about labels, composers and mainly, usefulness for my film projects.
Avatar 🎸 3:08pm Domenic:

The Shadows!
Avatar 3:08pm Paper Kosmonaut:

The film I have made that will premiere soon (the date has now been set at march 25) is full of library music.
Avatar 3:08pm worldsworstrecords:

absolutely. I've found, for example, that I really like the Music De Wolfe stuff from the 60s, lots of KPM from the mid-70s or earlier and loads of Polish and Italian stuff from the 70s
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm flannery:

Avatar 3:09pm worldsworstrecords:

How exciting, PK
Avatar 3:09pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Flannery!
Avatar 🎸 3:10pm Domenic:

I don't know why they call it library music... I've been in plenty of libraries and never heard any of this music piped in....;')
Avatar 3:10pm Paper Kosmonaut:

@ Darryl 03:08: and that is also exactly what I really really like.
Avatar 3:10pm worldsworstrecords:

@PK but I made the mistake of buying a load of DeWolfe albums from the 80s, and they're almost all as dull as bad wallpaper
Avatar 3:11pm worldsworstrecords:

LOL Domenic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Mr Fab:

This is part two of an interview with Brian Bennett, drummer for instrumental rock legends The Shadows, and his subsequent move into soundtrack music. part one was his childhood, jazz drumming, then rock n roll came along. He took courses in composing, moving away from just drums.
Avatar 3:11pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I mainly go for the 1970s period.
  3:12pm solo mon:

Hello @DJ GeorgyGirl hope you are having a beautiful day.
Avatar 3:12pm worldsworstrecords:

Oh... and I really love the Chappel Telecineradio stuff from France... I've got maybe 10 albums of that and so much of it is fantastic
Avatar 3:13pm worldsworstrecords:

No GG tonight solo... I'm babysitting HWM
Avatar 3:13pm Paper Kosmonaut:

The Montparnasse label also has some nice stuff.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:14pm MHLee:

I only keep a few film soundtracks in my library. Midsommar is one... the wickerman is another
Avatar 3:14pm worldsworstrecords:

I'll check that out, PK. The POlish composer/bandleader Henryk Debich is my new jam
Avatar 3:15pm worldsworstrecords:

I think most of my soundtracks are of foreign films, MHL... mostly Almodovar
Avatar 3:19pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I love the stuff Gert Wilden did, the fuzzy guitar stuff for Schulmadchen report on Crippled Dick. And that's where my interest in that kind of music started. Beat at Cinecitta, Easy Tempo label things, etc.
Avatar 3:20pm Paper Kosmonaut:

This stuff now playing is also great.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:22pm MHLee:

Yeah, I lost track (haha)
Avatar 3:23pm worldsworstrecords:

I think this might be 'Dreamy Images'...
Avatar 3:24pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I have clickystarred the whole shebang already...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm Brian in UK:

Hello Georgy & those in the know.
Did you miss life on the road? NO.

Georgy, who is the interviewer?
Avatar 3:26pm Paper Kosmonaut:

GG is away for today, Brian. Darryl is babysitting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Brian in UK:

Thanks PK, just seen Georgy's early comments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Wenzo Toad:

hotels used to have sandwiches... wow
Avatar 3:28pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Now you even have to be careful with that chocolate on your pillow.
Avatar 3:29pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Brian, Hi Wenzo. Georgy is having some family time this evening but she'll be back on Friday
Avatar 3:32pm worldsworstrecords:

Brian: could it be Rick Wakeman conducting the Interview? there's an hour-long show, face to face, with Brian and Rick on YouTube... might be that?:
Avatar 3:35pm Paper Kosmonaut:

*wasn't paying full attention*.... So... he did the countdown tune?
Avatar 3:36pm worldsworstrecords:

he played on it but didn't write it
Avatar 3:36pm Paper Kosmonaut:

oh, okay.
Avatar 3:36pm worldsworstrecords:

Definitely sounds like Rick Wakeman to me
Avatar 3:37pm worldsworstrecords:

Alan Hawkshaw wrote it: Bennett plays the timpani
Avatar 3:39pm worldsworstrecords:

...and Brian B supplied the metronome!
Avatar 3:40pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I'll have a vowel, Carol. Boiiinnnnnggggggggggg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Mr Fab:

GG didn't mention that it was Rick Wakeman and you certainly think that she would!
Avatar 3:41pm worldsworstrecords:

You have to hand it to our Georgy, she does put together a mightly fine show
Avatar 3:41pm Paper Kosmonaut:

She does, Darryl.
Avatar 3:41pm worldsworstrecords:

It sounds like him to me, Mr F
Avatar 🎸 3:42pm Domenic:

Bennett is so damm bloody British....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Mr Fab:

could be, I don't know what his speaking voice sounds like.
Avatar 3:44pm worldsworstrecords:

Avatar 3:46pm worldsworstrecords:

Love that anecdote!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Scott67:

G'day Georgy & Modernists
Avatar 3:50pm worldsworstrecords:

So, just under 10 minutes left, then we're all piling into Flannery's playroom for this week's New Flanland: www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 3:51pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Scott67... no GG this evening, but she has put this show together and will be back on Friday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm flannery:

Avatar 3:53pm worldsworstrecords:

Blimey... this sounds like something Jan would play on YEs WHNM!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Scott67:

G'day Darryl, cheers mate!
Avatar 3:54pm worldsworstrecords:

No worries Scott67!
Avatar 3:54pm Paper Kosmonaut:

@ Darryl: I also heard some Dutch Earth and Fire like sounds earlier on.
Avatar 3:55pm worldsworstrecords:

there's definitely been a vibe, hasn't there PK?
Avatar 3:55pm Paper Kosmonaut:

But GG made an awesome show. Loved the tunes.
Avatar 3:56pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Next time, we'll make some inquiries about the Dutch Bennett connection.
Avatar 3:56pm worldsworstrecords:

Right, last few minutes of the show... hope you've all enjoyed tonight's HWM: Georgy will be back on Friday with the Flange
Avatar 3:56pm worldsworstrecords:

good idea, PK
Avatar 3:57pm Mike Rogers:

Thanks Darryl!!! Thanks DJ GG!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Mr Fab:

I was one of the requesters to hear the rest of the interview, so thank for obliging me, GG! And your engineering is much appreciated, Darryl.
Avatar 3:57pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Thanks for babysitting us all, Darryl.
Avatar 3:57pm worldsworstrecords:

You're all very welcome!
