But what I came here to ask - in these ensemble type shows, there's always a woman with kind of a squawking voice (that I find kind of annoying). Is that because she's a humorous character like Ado Annie? Most musicals seem to have one of those.

Not that' any church would ask things, but maybe this was true at one point.
