Chilling...watching the dirty snow turn to slush. The pretty snow landscape has run its course!

Rich in Washington:

I remember seeing all those 'ring around the colllar!' commercials as a kid and my mom, clearly fed up by the sexism of the commercials (it was always some frustrated housewife trying to clean her husband's shirts) yelled at the TV 'what kind of greasy pig are you married to, anyway?' and I've never forgot it.
Avatar 12:13pm
Ursula1000:

haha it was definitely a problem! I don't think it every went away tho. Now if there was a pill you could prescribe to cure it---it'd be all over the airwaves!
Avatar 12:14pm
Mr Fab:

Wow, Bolan-a-go-go. Don't think I've heard much Marc before John's Children.

Snowed in and working from home whilst listening to some choice sounds.
Avatar 12:15pm

yeah that Bolan album came out in the 70s compiling unreleased 60s stuff or trax that later morphed into T.Rex trax

Avatar 12:58pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Feldy:

I talked a friend of mine who teaches art in public school into buying a risograph with his budget for his class and I have to get my hands on it soon
Avatar 1:00pm
Ursula1000:

I love how there's a whole scene about the printing process!
Avatar 1:02pm
Mr Fab:

the name Ryan Heshka didn't ring a bell, but i def recognize his work now that i'm looking at it. i see he's from Canada, but he's def got the whole LA lowbrow style down.
Avatar 1:04pm
Ursula1000:

kinda like an offshoot of the Mark Ryden school...?Definitely classic pin ups too
Avatar 1:10pm
Mr Fab:

I saw a Ryden show at a more "fine arts" type gallery. The LA Times even saw fit to send an art critic out to review it. She was...confused. Like an opera critic sent to review Devo or sumthin. So I don't see lowbrow infiltrating the wine-and-cheese crowd too deeply.
Which is fine, they're going their own way. Like Shag starting his own spaces.

Dig the Spanish 80s synth pop duo - Spain's Answer to Vicious Pink or Swing Out Sister? LOL
Avatar 1:12pm

Non Toilet Mix? LOL
  1:15pm
Kat in Chicago:

“Non Toilet Mix”? Of course that makes me curious about the Toilet Mix, wherever it may be
Avatar 1:15pm
Ursula1000:

haha yeah the album version has her go to the toilet in the middle of the song where the music is all muffled then opens up again
Avatar 1:16pm
Ursula1000:

it's actually a really clever trick and kinda hilarious---but I opted for the full version
Avatar 1:17pm
Domenic:

Toilet or no toilet. Her music does not stink LOL
Avatar 1:18pm

Always thought of John Foxx as a mix between Gary Numan and Steve Strange. I need to re-listen to John Foxx. Been seeing lots of his old stuff at record stores
Avatar 1:19pm
Ursula1000:

he's amazing---very futurist meets synth pop and a little New Romantic---his Metamatic album is A-mazing
Avatar 1:21pm
Mr Fab:

there are two versions of "Hiroshima Mon Amour "i seem to recall. Isn't the other version like really orchestrated?
Avatar 1:22pm
Ursula1000:

hmmm maybe? I think there was a version on an EP or something?
Avatar 1:25pm
