Avatar 9:07pm TonyR:

To test my spouse's hearing aids and bluetooth, I streamed a Ronnie song. Unkind things were said. I held my tongue and wished him well figuring it all out by himself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm medson:

Hola Spazz and everyone
Avatar 9:11pm Kitschy Mama:

  9:17pm DT:

You can't trust Bingo with anything, as everybody knows . . .
Avatar 9:18pm TonyR:

Look what they did to Dave's superhero underwear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That Ronnettes song already gave me the wim-wams!

  9:27pm JOE FROM DC:

What is it about Thursday nights? What happens?
Avatar 9:31pm TonyR:

Dixie Cips' original band name is vaguely suggestive. And I think I heard the actual word "sex" in an early version of "Iko Iko" played on Crayons tonight.
Avatar 9:34pm TonyR:

Hey now. Hey now!
Avatar 9:35pm TonyR:

The best answer.
Avatar 9:35pm TheManWhoLaughs:

  9:36pm ?:

Avatar 9:47pm Mister Dobalina:

Feel like you've been Spazz'd yet?
Avatar 9:47pm TonyR:

I care. My old 45 had a fire-motif on the left side with a black background (name escapes me). Sounds like what Dave is talking about. (Never listened to the other side.)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm Stevel:

Howdy Rex & Kitschy. Wil! How’s the CEO?
Avatar 10:11pm TonyR:

Ralph is terrifying in his certainty.

  10:14pm jmd:

Are you gonna play the Byrds ode to Ralph?
Avatar 10:15pm Kitschy Mama:

Hello Dave Miss
Avatar 10:15pm TonyR:

"F*ck you, ceiling!!"
  10:17pm jmd:

That’s a hard ‘no’ then.
Avatar 10:18pm TonyR:

Always thought that Love Child line was "Started my life..."
Avatar 10:19pm TonyR:

Also spent too much time wondering how somebody could "throw up" a dress.
Avatar 10:21pm Dave the Spazz:

@TonyR: Oh. You're probabaly right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm Will the Sound Guy:

she's just about tucked in for the night
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Stevel:

"No, Joe. I will NOT get out of bed."
Avatar 10:30pm TonyR:

Is Glenn Miller the guy who went on to run a major record company and "enjoys" a reputation as an SOB?

(NM. I think "Mitch Miller" is who I am summoning.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm medson:

Killing it here tonight Dave.
Avatar 10:31pm TonyR:

I didn't even know he was sick. (Srsly, SO MANY people!! Thanks, Dave.) Okay. Nobody else dies! Pinky swear?
  10:32pm Mimi:

I worked with R Dean Taylor briefly in 2007 while working at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame - we inducted Love Child. He was a reserved, kind man, but I remember was low key annoyed that we inducted that song rather than his solo stuff. I had no idea he passed, heard about it 20 minutes ago listening to your show, thanks for the great tribute.
Avatar 10:32pm TonyR:

What's wrong with watching the labels going around???
Avatar 10:34pm Mister Dobalina:

Definitely a nite of heavy hitter jams !!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm Rosey is Listening on 91.1 MHz:

I haven't routinely listened to WFAN in a while, but Dragnet Theme is what's played in the background during traffic updates or some other type of update, right?

Loving these selections tonight too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Jim the Poet:

That's What It's All About
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Stevel:

For cripes' sake, I'm singing along with Ray!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm PigeonsAndRust:

I feel like this is Advanced Hokey Pokey
Avatar 10:37pm Mister Dobalina:

Now we're talkin'...
  10:39pm BH:

I believe that was the 12 inch version of the Hokey Pokey
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm Jim the Poet:

What if the hokey pokey is WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT
Avatar 10:39pm TonyR:

Cobras 4-ever.
Avatar 10:41pm Mister Dobalina:

Once again, all the Detroit Cobras stuff I've heard on FMU, I've liked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm medson:

Love her voice. The Cobras are unfortunately on my list of bands I never went to see live. Shame on me.
Avatar 10:42pm TonyR:

Cobras definitely schooled me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm JOE FROM DC:

LOVED the Detroit Cobras! Everything they released is perfect!
Avatar 10:42pm Mister Dobalina:

Speaking of hot dogs, Boar's Head makes a natural casing dog which when paired potato roll & your favorite fine red wine, is the bee's knees good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm Jim the Poet:

I want her to watch me eat a bunch of hot dogs
Avatar 10:43pm TonyR:

Saw them once. Middle act, 30 minutes sandwiched between inferiors. And the crowd was a mess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm DonJuanTijuana:

So so GREAT!! RIP Rachel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm Stevel:

Mister Dobalina: Stop your gourmet chatter, I'm starving now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm JOE FROM DC:

Alley Oop is the perfect mix of stupid and clever! Turn it up to 11!
Avatar 10:54pm Mister Dobalina:

@Stevel...say no more, done & done. But one last question, have you ever had a craving for a nice, grilled sardine?
Avatar 10:57pm Mister Dobalina:

Gotta cheese it, Da Vi D, needless to say, you're a diamond in the rough..excellent show as always. 'til next week.
Avatar 10:58pm TonyR:

Next thing, Elvis himself will up and die. When will the madness end?
Avatar 10:58pm Mister Dobalina:

Polk Salad Annie.

Take 10 of WTLOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Stevel:

Mister Dobalina: Not yet, but you have driven me to cured Italian meats. Thank you.
Avatar 11:11pm TonyR:

Is the turntable alright? Sounds like the 2nd Ronnettes song in a row in wide stereo, but missing a channel.
  11:14pm rhett:

one of the most important musicians of the 20th century USA brought to life by Dave the Spazz. Thank you. Neither of you will ever be forgotten.
Avatar 11:15pm Wild Honey:

"MCGuire-looking sisters" ha ha ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm radioronan:

Was at that 2010 stomp 'n conference..sure wish they would release more of the oral histories..so many great talks..great to hear on radio..
  11:21pm Vertual:

I don't know if there is a god. But tonight's show is, for me, a religious experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm Stevel:

WFMU is doing Ronnie Spector right. I'm learning a ton and really appreciating her connections to so many musicians. Bravo!
Avatar 11:31pm TonyR:

Xmas album was remastered an released in hi-res (24-bit). Lot of Spector product could use a sonic spruce-up. This sounds great.
Avatar 11:32pm Motobro:

EXCELLENT !!!
Dave great job honoring a treasure.
And it sounds great as the first tunes in the garage up in VT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Paulo AD:

Good morning all :) Hope everyone is well and safe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm Dominick:

Heard the "hits' when they came out, but in '68 the college radio station where I was librarian bought a score of Philles singles. I just kept blasting them over and over in the McIntosh/Bozak system in the library. My synapses were permanently fused. This last week has been a deep dive into every emotion. NO one hits home more than Ronnie.
Avatar 11:40pm TonyR:

Cher's got chops. Even if Phil didn't think so.
Avatar 11:42pm TonyR:

But Cher is more likely to my ear to be a fake Crystal than a fake Ronette.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm McGroovey:

I forgot to turn on my radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm dave wuz here:

the pure joy in brian's voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm medson:

These songs are giving me WCBS flashbacks. Getting driven to school in our Mercury Montego with the loud muffler
  11:46pm Sylvia's Mother:

Brian: “First time I heard ‘Be My Baby,’ I was driving and had to pull over. It blew my mind! I want to do something good as that. It’s like Einstein’s theory of relativity. Eventually, I got to work with Hal Blaine. He was supposed to play the snare on the second beat as well as the fourth. But he dropped a stick. He left the mistake in and it became ‘bum-ba-bum-BOOM!’”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm Paulo AD:

I always find this song hilarious
  11:48pm Vertual:

My memory may be a little fuzzy but I think the first time i heard Be My Baby was in the womb, born October 63 . Thanks Mom.
Avatar 11:48pm TonyR:

After watching "Get Back", I realized George wrote a song about sending Mal Evans out to fetch Indian food.
  11:52pm rhett:

thank you Dave. I can't express how much I love this.
Avatar 11:53pm TonyR:

Mr. Dobs! A glass of your finest hot dog wine for Spazz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm Stevel:

This has become my favorite version of Can't put your arms..." in the past week. Such a good take on such a personal song. Oof! Bravo, once more!
Avatar 11:54pm Motobro:

Now I’m really gonna shed a tear….s

I really think this Thunders masterpiece is one of the greatest love songs of all time….
