I was in a record store when Gary Owens came in, and spoke to a store clerk. He sounded exactly like you would think he would - I recognized his voice before I saw him.

I always wanted to do a show in the style of Gary Owens. But his style of straightman is so particular, and there's a sort of formula to his sense of humor that I just can't capture. Still, I like the idea of someday doing a faux-Owens style script.
