One of our neighborhood winos fervantly maintains that Don Was lives above a cheese shop in and can be found wandering Eastern Market barefoot... been meaning to make a pilgrimage down there to offer him some cheese and impress him with my toe spread, compare notes on the finer points of barefootery. one of these days. i also heard there’s a regular blues jam on a stage made out of pallets in a vacant lot down there. if ever in detroit you can find out of yourself... and if not... at least buy some cheese & reenact the cheese shop sketch from monty python

It was winter solstice and my friend was inside the convention center shopping at a flea market and I was sitting on the rocks on a sunny calm day and a humpback whale surfaced and breached about 75 yds off the coast - I felt like I could swim to it if it was warm out
