Nice, S&M&S. I work at 62nd and Columbus, so I was always in favor of playing at Dewitt Clinton -- esp. since I bring the gear!

@PhotocopyCC2000: For Tolkien, it all starts with Language. His Elves are the most 'Finnish', I believe - but also the Kalevala was sort of what he wished to create for England...

A good friend of mine was in Helsinki alone several years ago to give a talk. He was walking around and saw a bunch of people with long hair and black jeans and rock shirts going into a place so went to the box office to ask what was going on. The worker there said: "Oh! It is Finnish National Bass Solo Championship." My friend's response: "One, please."

David (in London):

Julie, they were effing amazing. Pete Murphy's voice was still incredible. And Daniel Ash was a one-man guitar army. They were my second ever gig (1983, yikes), and I was 15 again watching them. They launched into Kick in the Eye and I was grinning like an absolute loon.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@6:29 Handy Haversack: heh! Unfortunately the way I stood out was that I was wearing a mask - almost no-one where i was standing wore one. It was not mandatory, and no, it does not make me a better person but let's say I was a bit nervy about it.

Always thot Bauhaus were especially Creative & interesting for typical Gittar-Bass-Drum-Vocal line-up. Ideas all over the place. In some kind of London-based way - this actually reminds me of the yARdbiRdS ...tho I expect nobody anywhere to relate to that perceived parity...

Knee-deep in kittens here, David, but so far so good! Goblin and Bugbear have definite potential for the Runza enforcement squad!
