Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:01pm
Nate K.:

Howdy, folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:01pm
Nate K.:

@Tony, is it a triple 45?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm
Nate K.:

@Xangoir, Clifton Chenier likely didn't get that a lot.
Avatar 9:07pm
TonyR:

No problem. I'll bring a 45RPM record-changer adapter also. A round one. I never trusted the rectangular ones.

Folks, hoping to get a little closer to my goal for the Hellraiser tonight, if not go all the way and hit it. And as you'll notice, if you pledge to Oh, My Soul, you get a badass bleeding 45 widget, made by Bad Teeth's Spoony (!!!), next to your name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm
Nate K.:

Hey, Lesley!
Avatar 9:14pm
TonyR:

Was just going to ask what the Nate Badge was. I used a screen magnifier and couldn't figure it out.
Avatar 9:15pm
TonyR:

A bleeding 45 is right but oh, so wrong.
Avatar 9:16pm

But it's Halloween, so why not horrify?

Haunted house tableaux:
* somebody holding records with their fingers all over the surface.
* watching the DJ cue up 45s.

I love the Velvet's conviction that they were making top 40 music.
Avatar 10:18pm

This sounds like the version used on a Lou Reed double-LP compilation on Arista 1980 or so.
Avatar 10:19pm
TonyR:

The playlist is asexually reproducing!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm

Well, Reed did start in a doo-wop group
Avatar 10:21pm
TonyR:

Some recently released BigBrother/Janis live recordings sound very much like VU when JJ isn't singing. BB would also do tunes like "Let the Good Times Roll".

Hey, Nate, ultradamno, everyone!

"Under the Wires" was where "Psychedelic Jungle " really got interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm
ultradamno:

Hiya Handy!

DJs might have got nervous about the drug refs in WL/WH...could have seen Bowie getting it over back then, had he been inclined.

Hey, you played Halo Of Flies last week, maybe their "Human Fly" cover....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm
Pauly from Clifton:

Hey Handy!
Avatar 10:46pm
TonyR:

I think maybe the "tamest" of rock and roll for the teenagers in the 60s was indistinguishable from "White Light" in certain cynical quarters in the industry. If I were the VU, I'd throw it out there, too. Anyway, AppleTV has a 7-day free trial, kids. (That's where you can see the Todd Haynes film.)

Love Jack O' Fire. Lost that glow in the dark pumpkin single years ago.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm

@Ignore I saw recently that it doesn't go for too much these days: www.discogs.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm

I got you, Nate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Ignore Function:

Good to know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
Handy Haversack:

Well, will have to revisit the VU sets in a rare archive excursion. Will make the time for that. Glad to have caught what I did -- thanks, Nate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm

Handy, my man! THANK YOU!
