There are some great farms in Jersey! I grew up in the northeast corner, and there was Tice's and one more I can't remember the name of. My Uncle Paul lived among the apple orchards of New Paltz. Great memories.

For some strange reason, my house growing in Brooklyn had grape vines in the back yard, in a small patch of land next to the garage, and the vines grew up the garage. My dad would harvest the grapes and make wine with it...it was always awful!!! (He would taste it, add sugar, taste again, add more sugar, eventually it had enough sugar to be _drinkable...)

Thanks for playing some Harrison Whitford Gina! Agree about Rockaway! Plus the commuter ferry is a fabulous ride! It is a perfect way to become transported before actually getting to Rockaway.. Thought of moving to be close to the ocean at one point... I have a friend that lived there for a while, but it's very isolated, and the commute to nearly anywhere is too long to be doing consistently..for work, going to shows etc.. even if you have a car.. Perfect for occasional visits. I'll try and get out there before the weather gets really cold..

@prguitar...for surely grateful for what we've got here. In a city, but liveable size, in a semidetached downtown. But the scale is very different from NYC for sure! Its all perspective relative, right? I was on a farm before here so it feels comparatively oppressive/dense some days. But being the hermit i am i just draw the blinds those days. Or drive out of town and walk by one of the rivers...
