	♥ 12:21pm B R M: one of the great regrets of my college experience, aside from not going to class enough and not caring about grades, was not volunteering for the college radio station WCBN in Ann Arbor. As a freshman with what I thought was good taste in music, I visited the station's table during the campus clubs/volunteer fair day for freshman, asked how I could get a show, and they suggested volunteering at the station for a year. As an entitled and naive 18 year old, a year of "helping" seemed insane and so I stupidly didn't just go and plant myself at the station and see it as a reasonable way to earn my place. So I just listened to the station and regretted not going in but couldn't bring myself to try again. Maybe I need to do penance and volunteer at WFMU! ha

I started off doing work/study in the record library, ironically, getting paid by the college.

I was friendly with the program director who told me I could easily get a show if I showed up, followed FCC guidelines and could pronounce Autechre like I knew what I was talking about.

I sing in an early R.E.M. covers project and we did a virtual gig and donated all proceeds to Save Our Stages and the Equal Justice Initiative and Tim reached out to Bertis Downs at R.E.M. HQ and they promoted our gig on R.E.M.'s social media (airhorn) and we raised a ton of money and that was all down to Tim, so he'll always be a mensch to me. ;)

It's my second show of this year's WFMU's HELLRAISER fundraiser, and as I teeter on the brink of senior citizenship I once again try to re-live my college radio glory days by playing some of the great records that came out in the late '70s and early '80s when I was on the air at that New York university across the river.

Today you'll hear a mix of songs I didn’t know would become classics alongside flashes in the pan that faded away. and might never have been heard again until now, all presented in a Top 40 style just like I used to do on WNYU's New Afternoon Show^* a long long time ago. You'll hear some of your old favorites and some others that'll become new faves instantly!

	♥ 12:21pm B R M: one of the great regrets of my college experience, aside from not going to class enough and not caring about grades, was not volunteering for the college radio station WCBN in Ann Arbor. As a freshman with what I thought was good taste in music, I visited the station's table during the campus clubs/volunteer fair day for freshman, asked how I could get a show, and they suggested volunteering at the station for a year. As an entitled and naive 18 year old, a year of "helping" seemed insane and so I stupidly didn't just go and plant myself at the station and see it as a reasonable way to earn my place. So I just listened to the station and regretted not going in but couldn't bring myself to try again. Maybe I need to do penance and volunteer at WFMU! ha
