His prerequisite for taking me as a student was I was obliged to join the Ocean County Choir's (which he directed) annual Gilbert & Sullivan production. That year it was Iolanthe. it was an amazing experience...and made me love G&S forever.

She joined with her sister and loved it (not sure how things are presently working with latest COVID slog). Most of the fellow members are elderly but not exclusively--she says it's enriching singing with people of all ages. The repertoire is composed of mostly religious and classical works, but they also work on 20th Century pop stuff. In any event, a collegiate choir open to non-students may be the ticket.

The repertoire is composed of mostly religious and classical works, but they also work on 20th Century pop stuff. In any event, a collegiate choir open to non-students may be the ticket.
