Blast Off Girl: I lived in an industrial building on Harlan Street in Emeryville, between Hollis Ave and San Pablo Ave. bordering Oakland.. I moved there in December 1989 Amoeba opened it's first store on Telegraph in early 1990... My favorite record store was Village Music in Mill Valley.. Unfortunately, John Goddard had to close it in 2007.. if you didn't get a chance to visit, check their website..villagemusic.com.. What part of Oakland are you living in?
