I agree with you on the lyrics; hard to believe they chose “genie” when “weenie” was right there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am DJ Guin:

I watched all six parts of McCartney 3 2 1 last evening. A bit underwhelming, but you need to watch each to the end as they play some great songs during the credits. Macca shares some insights, but overall, I feel it was a warm-up to his 900 page Biography slated for publishing.

Happy 85th Birthday to Ruth Buzzi.
Happy 70th to my favorite Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter. Hubba hubba.

DJ G thx for review. I read they get better as it goes along... Oh yeah Lynda that's a Leo...
  11:20am egould310:

Hi Roger. Greetings from mild and sunny Seattle. Stretching my legs to Michael’s show, and heading out for a seven mile jog through Ballard and Interbay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am DJ Guin:

@RevRabbit63 -- Macca's voice seems like it's near its end at times. I had to turn on closed captioning. I wonder how scripted it was and how much footage was left out, if any?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Squints:

If this Factotums number were just a little more off-kilter, it could be an XTC song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Listener Baby:

@DJ Guin. I read somewhere that 15 hours were shot of 321. Agree, underwhelming, but anything such is pretty fun, no?
  11:26am Tom:

HBO's new documentary Woodstock 1999 is a must see horror film!!

Such a lousy, lowest common denominator-baiting song, that Lewis thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am DJ Guin:

@Listener Baby - I am a Beatles super fan and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but..I don't know. Rick Rubin is obviously a fanboy, as well, but it left me wanting more, unless it's all been said before.

  11:28am Dennis:

Brian Wilson tour: if BW is as disengaged as he has been for the last several years, I consider it insulting to the fans, despite how good Al, Blondie and the band may be.
McCartney 321 - highly recommended, even though there’s not much new there (hearing some isolated tracks is worth the trip).

Woodstock 1969 was a fiasco revised by slimy marketers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am DJ Guin:

@Dennis - well said. Macca acts like he's never heard some of the outtakes, which were featured on the Anthology in 1995. Perhaps his Memory Is Full.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Listener Baby:

@DJ G I think took a swing at finding some magic, and only found a little. Kind of like Magical Mystery Tour. Still, a moment or two of getting chills is worth anyone’s time. I give it a 6.75, but so glad I watched. I’ve got one more episode to go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am DJ Guin:

@ledzepsucks - good one.
  11:32am Dennis:

DJGuin, he’s also a little disingenuous about remembering who played what (doubtless a little self-conscious about having to always say “That was me” - which I guess is to his credit)

So clueless so useless reading the anti American NEW YORKER

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am DJ Guin:

@Dennis - agreed. if you believe Bernard Purdie...and the rumors I have heard about Hal Blaine (which makes less sense). "Nobody plays on a Beatles record" claim by Clapton is bunk. While My Guitar Gently Weeps was written about the sad state of the band and George's desire for the infighting to cease.

those old beatles press conferences were so fun and a great way to get insight on the dynamics between the four of them. one great moment was when a press guy asked if there was an acknowledged leader in the band and paul immediately looks over at john who stands up and in front of the 3 of them and says "no not at all".

Ah, baloney. Michael you always ask about the past and how music was made. Only difference is, all those questions have been asked and answered already by Paul.
Avatar 12:18pm Michael Shelley:

Boloney??? I'm saying that with Paul I would take a different tack. Let's hope we get to find out who is right!
  12:18pm gf2002:

Taking it back a few weeks, it would have been great to ask Steve Cropper about what happened to the deal where The Beatles were negotiating with Stax to record there, just before Geoff Emerick got promoted at EMI and made history with them on the Revolver sessions...I'd ask Macca about the Stax deal too. It would be interesting to hear both sides
  12:18pm greenpoint:

I have to disagree. I prefer beyond burger because impossible comes out of the package with a fairly strong designed flavor. Sorta smoky grilled meat flavor, which is great. But beyond has less flavor out of the package and you can customize with whatever- onions, Worcestershire, soy etc.

Tony Orlando goes to Kingston!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm DJ Guin:

I would ask Sir Paul about Jimmy McCulloch.who is sadly overlooked. "Medicine Jar" hit me hard in my personal life and the guitar work is phenomenal. Even Stern is too palsy-walsy to ask anything but pre-interview questions. Macca's legacy is assured, but he has gone Russian historian and won't be completely honest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Listener Baby:

I think macca walks a fine and difficult line. Imagine the wrath if he all of sudden started diss-ing John. He knows better, but are all worst for it. He’s as much a politician, as a musician at this point. And for a very long time. He’s got it down.

Avatar 12:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Seriously - incomprehensible to be McCartney. Deals with it all remarkably well. I would say - he's more sly with his ego - but I dunno - compared to Lennon's convolutions... Macca has to deal with it all since he's survived...

@Dave. Ouch man!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm JG:

I think people love McCarntey so much they're just tired of loving and loo to find fault. But really the guy is still capable of killing it rock n roll wise, so he's really sort of unworldly, still which I guess is stating the obvious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm DJ Guin:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm DJ Guin:

@paul - how many artists can say that? i was lucky to see him at his MetLife appearances (worked there) and people got up for beers and bathroom during his Wings and solo songs. It's not like Ringo can sing "Something" or "Give Peace A Chance" and get away with it. If he tours again...it will just be a money grab.
  12:33pm davefromtoronto:

well it definitely shook my wife up - she screamed when he stepped out of the elevator.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm DJ Guin:

@dave - did you give the Mrs. a Hall Pass on Macca?
  12:36pm paul:

I've seen him 6 or 7 times and the crowd always loves the Wings stuff...Band on the Run, Jet, Live and Let Die, etc
  12:38pm paul:

But I wouldn't be surprised if he's done touring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Squints:
