Avatar 2:11pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Otis:

With the show winding down this month, put a note on my calendar to tune in live this month. Denovangelis... very very nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm ARB:

Hi BC! Friends!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm ARB:

LOVE the art!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Otis:

Hi ARB & Solo
Avatar 2:14pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Arb :) It was the art that and writing on the spine that drew me to these tapes as the thrift store.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Otis:

Loved when you shared an excerpt of this on FP in 2019.
Avatar 2:16pm BC Sterrett:

Yes, his radio debut was on Friendly Persuasion!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm ARB:

BC don't leave us, this show is SOOOO GOOOOOD!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm ARB:

There's nowhere else I can read ballpoint pen dragon lore on j-cards on the radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Otis:

It was a fun show - wfmu.org...

I'm going to break out when you visited Montreal and were on FP in 2010 BC and play your full set next week or the week after... the one where you play and DJ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Otis:

A send-off, hommage to Lost Media (and Oddity Rock Radio!)
Avatar 2:21pm BC Sterrett:

Oh man, the one where I tried to play the musical saw but the weather there was making it hard to play. It happens sometimes under different climate conditions.
Avatar 2:21pm solo mon:

HelllOtis!
Avatar 2:21pm BC Sterrett:

I'll still poke my head in now and again Arb. Maybe on Wiggle Room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Otis:

I was stormy wasn't it? Or was it snowy? Weather I can't remember but I remember the back studio room and the layout of the stuff and where you were standing playing saw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Otis:

Yes!! Wiggle Room... this show is going to be so good.
Avatar 2:23pm BC Sterrett:

It wasn't good. lol
Avatar 2:23pm BC Sterrett:

My saw playing that day....
Avatar 2:23pm solo mon:

Hahaha musical saw is weather sensitive?! I can see (saw) that now but LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Otis:

I can play that portion backwards and reverse the wav file at that moment in the mix. Ha!
Avatar 2:24pm BC Sterrett:

Yeah, cold seems to make it very difficult to play. Happened to me a couple other times. Must have gotten too cold on the drive to Otis's pad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm ARB:

How long ago did you find this BC?
Avatar 2:25pm solo mon:

BC you have consistently played stuff that has blown my jaded, over saturated mind!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Otis:

I wish I had pictures. Still to this day, I always forget to take photos of moments. Unless it involves cats at 90% of pics with 9% food and 1% humans and plants.
Avatar 2:25pm BC Sterrett:

I found these about 5 or 6 years ago? Something like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm ARB:

I hope he duckduckgos himself someday and discovers this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Otis:

I think Archivist Viv may do a Wiggle Room too. When I think of thrift shop tape diggers I think of you and Viv.
Avatar 2:27pm BC Sterrett:

THanks Solo Man
Avatar 2:27pm BC Sterrett:

I've been encouraging Vivian to do it. She has been sharing amazing cassette finds recently!
Avatar 2:28pm solo mon:

Otis was going through my phone photos and can confirm it’s 96% cats.
Avatar 2:29pm BC Sterrett:

I hope Deno is still alive! Maybe one of his family members will discover this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Otis:

I counted 98%, but now that the cat is outta the bag!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Otis:

Me too. Imagine if there were more tapes... like Mar-Tie!
Avatar 2:31pm flannery:

helloooo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm ARB:

Hi Flannery!
Avatar 2:31pm BC Sterrett:

I bet it's a bottomless pit for this type of material. It's just a miracle when it surfaces on the shore somewhere... Hints tell me from notes on the back of his cover art that he was a tenant at a hospital in Maryland when he recorded this.
Avatar 2:31pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Flanny!
Avatar 2:32pm solo mon:

Flannery!
Avatar 2:33pm Speedo Gonzalez:

hi BC!
Avatar 2:33pm BC Sterrett:

Hey there Speedo :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Otis:

The more you are out there digging in tape boxes, the more floats to the top. So many folks never dig in the tape bins it still seems.
Avatar 2:34pm flannery:

what's up, i'm loving this hour!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm ARB:

Hi Speedo!
Avatar 2:34pm solo mon:

Whoah its speed oh! We got a DJ party in here
Avatar 2:35pm BC Sterrett:

I have the timing of these track titles all wrong, just so everyone knows. I've listed all the tracks on this cassette as written.
Avatar 2:36pm solo mon:

The ubiquitous tango track
Avatar 2:37pm flannery:

damn this is lit
Avatar 2:37pm solo mon:

I’ve never even thought of looking at the tapes and I should
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Otis:

Sorry, I was in a state of bliss there. Hello Flan & Speedo!
Avatar 2:38pm solo mon:

“The eagle flies sophisticated and free”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Otis:

For the past 15 or so years, I get out to the thrifts on a blue moon but over the past year digging through boxes here I have a bit of an urge to get back out there again soon... imagine (as Mama Dia would say) all the home-recorded goodness low-fi low-budget tapes out there waiting to be loved.
Avatar 2:39pm solo mon:

4.99
Avatar 2:39pm solo mon:

It’s great Otis
Avatar 2:39pm flannery:

there's a unitarian church near here that once in a blue moon sells off their tapes
Avatar 2:42pm flannery:

i got a really good one called "dolphin radiance" but for years ignored it because i thought it was a punk band called DISCARD lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Otis:

Always 4.99 for you Solo. Never 6.99.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Otis:

OMG, that title sounds amazing Flannery
Avatar 2:43pm solo mon:

Dolphin radiance! I’m intrigued
Avatar 2:43pm flannery:

its good maybe ill work it into the mix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Otis:

I can just imagine the tape cover in puffy dolphin sparkle stickers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Otis:

Oh, please do. Share the finds.
Avatar 2:44pm BC Sterrett:

I ignored these Denovangelis tapes for a couple years because I got them in a rush for their artwork just thinking they were homemade mix tapes.
Avatar 2:44pm solo mon:

I love how the noodly meandering of these songs becomes hypnotic.
Avatar 2:46pm flannery:

damn!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm ARB:

Does it count as dungeon synth?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Otis:

They go in a box and some come back and they rock.
Avatar 2:48pm solo mon:

Recommend equalizer image is priceless
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm ARB:

LOL about the Discard
Avatar 2:50pm solo mon:

One digit less than infinite?!?
Avatar 2:52pm BC Sterrett:

This sounds like a Xenogenesis wanna be. I have no idea what he's talking about.
Avatar 2:52pm solo mon:

Otis who did the art for your show today???? It’s beautiful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Otis:

That would be Constance De Witt. The art director weekly in Torch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Otis:

Ha, BC... I was thinking Xenogenesis too!
Avatar 2:54pm solo mon:

W a Madonna justify my love beat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Otis:

So very 1992
Avatar 2:56pm solo mon:

I never thought that hot dog water could look so classy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm ARB:

Park City is so weird
Avatar 2:57pm solo mon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm ARB:

Psyched!
Avatar 3:09pm flannery:

Avatar 3:14pm BC Sterrett:

More recomended equalizer notes
Avatar 3:17pm solo mon:

I hope you set your equalizer to those specs BC
Avatar 3:19pm BC Sterrett:

I don't have that type of equalizer! But did mess with the knobs a bit
Avatar 3:22pm BC Sterrett:

I think maybe I'll play another couple favorite cassette tapes next week?
Avatar 3:23pm BC Sterrett:

I wish I lived on a planet where this is what was played at dance clubs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm ARB:

Avatar 3:27pm Speedo Gonzalez:

Fantastic Show BC thanks!!!
Avatar 3:27pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks Speedo :)
Avatar 3:28pm Speedo Gonzalez:

Maxell XL90 was my tape of choice, back in those days
Avatar 3:28pm Speedo Gonzalez:

Chrome
Avatar 3:31pm BC Sterrett:

This is a TDK High Bias CD Power 90 cassette
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

it sure is!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

gorgeous
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Otis:

My fav tape in the 90s was the Maxell XLII-S 60 & 90. 60 more for 4-tracking. Normal bias was for regular dubs. Close pals always get high-bias. Never did make the move to metal. Except heavy metal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

eat your shriveled heart out, Bill Callahan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Otis:

Taiyo-Yuden Silver & Gold were my fav CD-R choices 20 years back. But I remember my first burns were on Maxell in the 90s with a burner that weighed almost as much as a Tech 1200.
Avatar 3:46pm flannery:

HELL yeah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Otis:

Wow, nice finds. Flexible Edge for the win with bandname + music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

yes, more Flexible Edge, please!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Otis:

Look at the old dirty memorex tape. Knife on my eye? Ummm, in the basket without a thought.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Otis:

BC, are you a fan of the Minimal Wave label (and comps Minimal Wave Tapes on Stones Throw) too? Reminds me as so much stuff compiled from home-recordings.
Avatar 3:50pm BC Sterrett:

Ok next week I think I'll play a couple fave local private press New Wave synth cassettes from the 80's and 90's plus other stuff I can squeeze in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Otis:

Please doooo
Avatar 3:50pm BC Sterrett:

I don't know about it Otis but it sounds like it's up my alley!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Otis:

It is, knowing you for the past 100 years. You'll like.
Avatar 3:52pm flannery:

yes, exciting!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Otis:

Looking forward, we have 2 more shows, will see ya next week BC. Thanks for today, relaxing sounds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

Thank you BC!!!
Avatar 3:55pm BC Sterrett:

THanks everyone! See you next week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Otis:

I feel like I want to watch The Hobbit movies while I DM a D&D Campaign with Couriers of Rain playing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm ARB:

BC thanks! This has been a spectacular episode
Avatar 3:57pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks Arb, Otis, Mx, Flannery, Solo, Speedo and anyone not in the chat room.
