Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Phillippe:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Carmichael:

Heya Mary and those about to rock. It's June 30th, which means gub'mint fiscal close here. Walked into a shit storm this morning ...
Avatar 12:02pm Mary Wing:

Whoa, everybody is trying to squeeze through the curtains at the same time! Hello Sylvia (ding ding!) Phillip, chresti, and David in London!
Avatar 12:04pm Mary Wing:

Howdy Phillippe B. and Carmichael!
Too hot for me already, that's for sure!
  12:06pm Wfmu Listener Phillip:

@Mary Wing I hope your in a very air conditioned studio.😊😊😊
Avatar 12:08pm Mary Wing:

I'm in my moderately air conditioned office, which is better than my slightly-less moderately air conditioned apartment. I think I need to buy a new a/c soon, feh.
Avatar 12:08pm βrian:

Good afternoon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm chresti:

That reminds me that I have to clean the ac filter.
  12:10pm Wfmu Listener Phillip:

@Mary Wing as long as the brand you buy isnt TECCPO I bought a mini fridge from them 3 months ago and yesterday the compressor died😞😞😞
Avatar 12:11pm Mary Wing:

Hiya Brian! Late because the ottoman wouldn't inflate properly?

I did that on Sunday, chresti, but it didn't seem to help, heh.
Avatar 12:12pm βrian:

Yes, indeed. And inspecting more closely, I see someone has stuffed it full of cocaine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm WR:

I used to go to my office more often in summer to save on AC electric bill. Not an option this summer. Hoping that listening to WFMU as much as possible makes me cool enough to get through the heat wave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm ChukAmok:

Hello Mary and everyone! It is my lunch break and I am always here for Hope Sandoval.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 12:15pm Mary Wing:

Hi there WR, ChukAmok, Michael 98145, and coelacanth! I got here early for that same reason, WR! My electricty bill was already *four* times the amount it was for the previous month, oy!

Hello, Mary, and Wing walkers and Wingettes.
Your bling arrived and its the talk of the town. Wearing it as a nose ring, as my wrists haven't been that small since birth.
  12:22pm rw:

Hi, hi, hi. I don't want to work today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm coelacanth∅:

olá Sem e rw
Avatar 12:24pm Sem:

Hello, cool old fish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Phillippe:

Hey DiL and all youse other folks!

Our prior domicile was a drafty big house with 10 ft ceilings, except for the rooms where they were vaulted to 18 feet.Summertime electric bills around $800 were the norm, not the exception, and Jaunuary/February bills could easily top $1000. Could not wait to get out of that place.
Avatar 12:25pm Mary Wing:

Hi there Sem and rw!
Did you try bending the bling a little bit, Sem?
  12:26pm rw:

Oh, yeah. Wing Bling! Mine arrived a few days ago. Beautiful. I don't wear jewelry so my daughter is sporting it. Was a little bummed to let it go, but happy it's being used.

Buongiorn∅ coelacanth∅!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm David (in London):

All hail the Semulator.

I think I might make 'cool old fish' my standard term of endearment for people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm coelacanth∅:

i'm going to the chiropractor.
then i'm going to the dentist -to undo any benefit to my neck that may have occurred.
maybe i'll stop and eat somewhere on the way to the dentist, maybe some seaweed salad...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm chresti:

Hi David (in London)!
Avatar 12:31pm Mary Wing:

Good evening, Stanley! I suppose a 100% Whatever wingsuit is a ridiculous prize to offer next marathon, hmmm?
Avatar 12:31pm Sem:

Ah, you recognize my larger purpose in wearing stylish jewellry as an ice breaker. Nothing much gets past you, MW.
  12:31pm Stanley:

Cool, old and fishy, more like.
Avatar 12:32pm Sem:

D il! Stanley of the Wingsuit! S'podi' by the Bay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm David (in London):

I'm convinced that 100% Whatever wingsuit would be a major contribution to aviation safety.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Summer and Michael and Sylvia:

Good morning-ish, Mary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Phillippe:

coel, I think if you are on this comment board one can assume you are relatively old, with a few exceptions
Avatar 12:35pm βrian:

Speaking of, have y'all seen Call My Agent? Camille Cottin's nasal bridge just sends me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm David (in London):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Phillippe:

we watch it with the French language with English subtitles so we actually have to put the phones down and give the show our full attention. A rarity in our hose
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Phillippe:

Hey spodi!
Avatar 12:41pm βrian:

@Phillipe: And they speak so damn fast. I've picked up some new expressions, though I may already have forgotten.

They are kicking the butt and taking the names, yea verily.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Phillippe:

@βrian despite what my fake name would imply, most of my French comes from high school French nearly 40 years ago, though I surprise myself with how much I've retained when I'm on one of my rare forays to Paris

Wotcha Hubig.
  1:53pm P-90:

Yes, there was a cool musical logic to those three tracks @Mary Wing (*ding*)
Avatar 1:55pm Mary Wing:

When asked about the similarities, Lorde said in an interview that she'd never heard Loaded before, which is plausible, I guess, since she was born in 1996, heh.

I saw that, Mary. You can't revise history on me.

Somehow? Would make parody a little delicate...
Or have I got the wrong end of the cornstalk here...
Avatar 2:11pm Sylvia:

Some guy raped Tori Amos after a concert (before she got famous)
Avatar 2:11pm Mary Wing:

Tori claims it's based around female genital mutilation, so not too far off topic, RevRab.
Avatar 2:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Ugh. What is wrong with humanity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Phillippe:

Yay! I'm back! We are so overwhelmed with work that we all forgot what we wanted to talk about at our 2:00 meeting (true story)

Not sure if I ever shared this tale with this crowd, but Tori Amos's sister was my medical doctor for a brief period. Unfortunately, she would spend more time talking about her famous sister than she did on my never very good test results so I fired her as my doc. Apparently I wasn't the only person annoyed because she closed up shop a couple months later and subsequently moved out of state a couple years after that
Avatar 2:20pm Bas NL:

At home and free!
  2:21pm David in London:

For some reason I’d like to hear Mark E. Smith singing this.
Avatar 2:21pm Mary Wing:

How on earth do you talk about your sister (regardless of whether she's famous or not) during a medical consultation? I'd fire my doctor, too!
Avatar 2:26pm Sylvia:

very unprofessional, ugh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm doctorjazz:

Hi Mary and 100 percenters!
Avatar 2:29pm Mary Wing:

Howdy doctorjazz!
Avatar 2:30pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

It does oddly suggest MES somehow... that jerky stop & start, very TheFall ...an intense subject expressed kind of minimally with a few images & turns of phrase...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Phillippe:

Her opening at my first appointment was something along the lines of "let me tell you about myself. you probably noticed I have the same last name as Tori Amos, and yes, she is my sister..."
Avatar 2:33pm Mary Wing:

I'd have said, "that's nice. let's talk about my pancreas..."
Avatar 2:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Recalls some Python routine...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Did she try to comp you some free concert tickets to entice you to stay, Phillippe?
Avatar 2:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I got free Tori ticks when I worked @ a CD store in SantaBarbara. Medical guidance was not featured - any more than Insurance...
  2:38pm David in London:

Doctor Allin will see you now.
You may have noticed that I have the same name as GG Allin, and yes, he is my brother.
Avatar 2:39pm spodiodi:

haha DiL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Phillippe:

Mary: She didn't seem all that interested. My test results were indicative of prostate cancer but the visit to go over my results began with a statement about Tori's midwestern tour or something like that. I was out the door at that point. Last I saw, her old office space was being used as a boarding kennel or something like that.
@KFHP not even a complimentary CD... The real irony is that I'm not really a Tori Amos fan. Now if it was Angel Olson, different story altogether.
Avatar 2:40pm Sem:

Thank you, Mary, and your Mary band. Another Wednesday of the best whatever on tap anywhere. See you and all a little further down the road.

Avatar 2:41pm Mary Wing:

The book by Nancy Spungen's sister has a part where the sister, who just started college, i think, goes to a class and the teacher reads the attendance and says something like "Judy Spungen, no relation to that trash Nancy, of course..." and sister bursts into tears.
