Nice Trans Am!
Avatar 3:16pm Fox:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Barney Grubbs:

Trans Am always makes me think of the time I saw Laddio Bollocko, Neil Hamburger, and Trans Am play the 400 bar in Minneapolis circa 1999. The crowd was way too polite to Hamburger & he kept going until one of the dudes from Trans Am snuck to the back of the crowd and started yelling "You suck", etc.--eventually Trans Am came on (Laddio Bollocko were great)
Avatar 3:17pm Creamo Coyl:

Hey y'alll

Avatar 3:17pm Creamo Coyl:

I'm still mad at God and all his angels that I never saw Laddio...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Handy Haversack:

Ha, Barney, I just heard of Laddio Blocko for the first time this weekend, and it occasioned a lot of hilarity. Listener Mr. Pumpy is a big fan!

Kate and I also have a running joke that there is no place to see a show in MPLS except First Avenue. You're hitting all my laugh buttons!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm TomDash:

...it is believing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm HyperDose:

Hiya Handy, how did I beat you to the lazy river of sound?
  3:20pm Slappy white:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Barney Grubbs:

@handy: I think I still have smoke in the bottom of my lungs from the 400 club--it was the kind of place where it was probably healthier to smoke because then you were at least had the choice to breathe through a filter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Handy Haversack:

Kate says "Was that on Lyndale? Or Lake? Or Hennepin? One of those fucking streets."

I only ever went to the Turf Club.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm ultradamno:

Vanity Fair has an article about Tallulah Bankhead that said she smoked 100 cigarettes per day (until she compromised and started smoking 150 cork tipped cigarettes for her health) ...and that point it's just work.
  3:23pm The Butterman:

“I am returning…” is that a line from TNK? Sounds like it could be. Sing it in a Beatle John voice. Fuck, sing it in a Neil Diamond voice. See if I care.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm ultradamno:

Also, she got expelled from school for trying to bang a nun and never wore underwear on the set of Lifeboat, she was fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm PaulRobeson1920:

Ohh Hiiiiiii, Philipp! So nice to see one of my concert goes here! Like it was yesterday. One of the smiling faced in the crowd singing along and humming the tunes, Ode To Joy. Moscow June, 14th 1949

Hello WFMU Land! Cremo, nice show! Butterman, warm Greetings, One & all

  3:39pm The Butterman:

Oh shit, I didn’t type the “ 19” in 1920! That will trick the computer into thinking it’s 1820, or 2120 thus creating a gap in time or a dive into the the future 😬

@TheButterman I work in Commercial production. No box truck today, fortunately… I’m piloting a 15 passenger van. With every preset tuned to WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm mrdonutsu:

I get them wanting to cement the image of Kraftwerk as a very specific thing, but it's like the first 3 albums were crap — just different.

@ultradamno, my impression is that Nick is more or less equally embarrassed by the BND and most BP material, so he probably doesn't care so much about the legacy thing

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm mrdonutsu:

@Nathan, and then there are the many people I know who think Nick hasn't done anything good in the 40 years SINCE The Birthday Party.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm ultradamno:

I don't know, he didn't sound quite so mortified in the Autoluminescent doc, but then that was about what Rowland had made.
Avatar 5:17pm Philipp:

Thnx u Creamo Coyl for beautiful music set, unfortunately I have to go, have a nice evening. Guys, bye-bye, thnx u. Salut from Saint-Petersburg(Russia)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm nathan:

yeah, im kind of talking out of my ass, but when i've heard him discuss his pre-seeds career he seems VERY negative about his early singing style.
Avatar 5:17pm Fox:

With regards to migraines.... I have them chronically. And even before I had them chronically, they would be easily triggered by tripping. I have discovered tht 1/8th a square is the perfect amount to know I probably won't get a migraine. And thus, my Tuesday ritual was born.
Avatar 5:23pm Fox:

I had hoped yesterday's botox would have rendered me migraine impervious today, but alas! I am hovering at the edges of head explosion.

Gummy bears are a good release of the jaw tension, though!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Handy Haversack:

According to the liner notes to the Birthday Party comp, it's just that no universe could ever have been prepared for the pancosmic temblors occasioned by the release of music like the Birthday Party's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm ultradamno:

Shut down during their first NYC show just for sounding too violent! That's an accomplishment any way you slice it!
Avatar 5:27pm Heidee:

Thank you, Creamo Coyl, for a super unique and brilliant show! Good night everyone across the pond and in FMU land, see you around. ✨✨✨

Avatar 5:40pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

  5:41pm Tony:

I don't remember where I saw this (maybe another WFMU playlist) but I read recently that Pan Am sold their trademark to a shipping company or something, and they are still using the logo.
