Ready to be Iraized!
Swag For Life Member 9:05pm Bruce S.:

Good Evening Ira all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm DonJuanTijuana:

Hey Ira , Georgia, & fellow enthusiasts!
  9:09pm PJ:

Hail and Farewell, Ira!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm Oxidized:

I thought about watching a movie tonight but thought naaah, Ira's show sounds like more fun. Happy to see you on the summer schedule, Mr. "The K"!
  9:10pm Vince from Pearl:

Greetings Ira, Georgia and everyone! Long may the Mets rule!
Avatar 9:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Tico the Parrot was unavailable ??...
Swag For Life Member 9:19pm Ira:

Very happy to be back, Oxidized. Good evening everyone. (Not said in my Alfred Hitchcock voice this week. Gotta shake it up.)
  9:20pm PJ:

I bet Steve Wynn played this in his high school band.
  9:21pm Rick G:

Tuesday greetings Ira and all. Got my swag today, as i apparently needed more WFMU shirts, haha.
Swag For Life Member 9:21pm Ira:

PJ--but probably not as well!
Avatar 9:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...just took BOC into Funhouse territory...
Avatar 9:22pm John L:

This is some crazy chaos. I was in the next room and this BOC cover sounded like some crazed New Zealand noise band. Loved it.
  9:23pm georgia:

angela!
  9:24pm Tom E:

Is that dream syndicate cover from here? I haven’t listened yet, but this looked great.
https://saveyourface.posthaven.com/the-dream-syndicate-live-1982-1983#more
  9:27pm PJ:

@RevRab: Def heard some Stooges in there
@Ira: Those preppy high school kids didn't dig the Ig. It was all Journey, Rush, VH, Zep, and occasionally, stuff like BOC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm Ken From Hyde Park:

On Tuesday nights, fly Air Ira!
Swag For Life Member 9:29pm Ira:

Tom E.: yes.
  9:29pm yippie:

now i want to put msg on my potato
Swag For Life Member 9:31pm Bruce S.:

great film noir music
Avatar 9:43pm John L:

The Waldron/Portosol segue was a seamless beauty. I also thought about watching a movie, Oxidized, but Ira is showing us movies for the Third Eye.
Swag For Life Member 9:44pm Bruce S.:

Great mix in this set
  9:44pm georgia:

this song sounds like great unwashed at least at first
  9:47pm Robm:

Hello fellow listeners here to listen to great music
  9:48pm Vince from Pearl:

Killer set!
  9:49pm Emily:

Fun concert this weekend, Ira!
  9:53pm absmiami:

Evening, gang!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02pm chresti:

Hi Ira and party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Kat in Chicago:

Joining Ira already in progress, and the first thing I hear is B.J. Thomas singing about crackers and cheese, and Coca-Cola. Not what I expected :)
  10:03pm georgia:

ha ha ha
  10:03pm georgia:

@kat that comment was for peter criss not you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Kat in Chicago:

I just had dinner but maybe I could use a snack?
  10:04pm Carmichael:

Heya Ira and all K’s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Kat in Chicago:

Pretty much my reaction as well, Georgia!
Avatar 10:04pm vj pussycat:

i'd like a napkin please
Swag For Life Member 10:06pm Bruce S.:

Crackers and cheese yeah with an ice cold coke
  10:07pm Andres:

Hi, Ira! Wow, so many versions of Jealous Guy. That Peter Criss was pretty sweet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Franco Twinkie:

I remember when I first heard Hooked on a Feeling when I was in the 7th grade. I just KNEW B.J. Thomas was talking about something fundamental as wrapping peanut butter sandwiches in wax paper.
  10:10pm georgia:

please tell me BJ is playing all the instruments on this
  10:10pm Vince from Pearl:

An unexpected way to get my Marshall Allen fix.
Avatar 10:11pm vj pussycat:

things go better with sitar
  10:12pm Carmichael:

Thomas’ dad was a preacher, and he grew up Christian. I know this because I mistakenly thought he “found” God.
Swag For Life Member 10:14pm Bruce S.:

The mysterious connection between B J Thomas and Peter Criss
  10:15pm Adam br:

Love this version
  10:16pm Carmichael:

No offense to BJ, but I love the ooga chucka ooga ooga.
  10:18pm Carmichael:

BJ Thomas, PJ Nate.
Avatar 10:18pm John L:

Today's birthday of note: Andy Griffith! Not gonna request any of his music, but anyone who hasn't seen the film "A Face In The Crowd" see it now. Well, not right now.
Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Bruce S.:

Showing up in your pajamas, probably not a great move
  10:19pm Joeybug69:

A rare Tuesday night without band practice! Happy to “be here now.”
  10:19pm absmiami:

Ira have you ever seen the Boomtown Rats and Crack the Sky in the same place - at the same time ??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm leshwatt:

More ppl here wear pajamas than pants

Especially in public
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Franco Twinkie:

Oh come on Ira, I do that all the time. It's a shirt for fucks sake! Not a pajama top like Dagwood would wear, right?
Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Ira:

absmiami, I've never seen Crack the Sky in any place.
  10:21pm absmiami:

well, you need to get out more often !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm McGroovey:

Neon Heart: the cowbell makes it!
Avatar 10:23pm John L:

I don't know why, but Crack the Sky seemed to have a lot of fans on Long Island when I was growing up there. I never saw Crack The Sky and The Good Rats in the same place either.
  10:23pm absmiami:

although I'll have to admit - IVE never seen the Boomtown Rats ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm McGroovey:

Crack the Sky actually have a new album out, or coming out soon. True story. I think.
Swag For Life Member 10:25pm Bruce S.:

You just reminded me of the Good Rats I haven't heard them in the 21st century gotta pull them out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm pgalub:

Yeah that 3rd chord in the BJ Thomas tune was weird. (Still processing) ;)
  10:26pm absmiami:

2 votes for the Good Rats
Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Ira:

Saw the Boomtown Rats, maybe more than once. Divided by the number of times I saw Crack the Sky + Good Rats = infinity. Not defending my concert choices, just reporting them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm ParUbi:

Hey there team
Avatar 10:31pm John L:

I saw the Good Rats a few times. Not sure how well their music holds up. There is a nice little film called "Roadie," in 2011, about a a guy who gets fired off a BOC tour. At one point he is hanging out with an ex and they listen to Good Rats records. I was hit with a small wave of nostalgia, but not enough to try and get back into them.
  10:31pm Michael Shore:

one thing's for sure, neither Bob Geldof nor Jon Palumbo could play the baseball bat like Pepe Marchello.
Avatar 10:33pm John L:

Ira, I saw Kansas twice. No defense there, either. And Michael, I must have seen The Good Rats a half dozen times and never caught a rubber rat. Sigh.
Swag For Life Member 10:34pm Bruce S.:

The Good Rats never made that great record they'll always be remembered for. they played around alot though
Swag For Life Member 10:35pm Ira:

I saw Kansas at least twice. I owe Crack the Sky a huge apology.
Avatar 10:38pm John L:

The first time I saw Kansas I was really into it. The second time, because I was given a ticket, was one years later. I was done with them, but I didn't want to be rude. it was a good example of how fast tastes change when a teenager.
  10:39pm Michael Shore:

I'll have whatever the Generation Gap's drummer is having
Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Bruce S.:

This Red Foley is really nice
Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Bruce S.:

You know, I'm really diging this set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm melinda:

hi everyone
  10:57pm Michael Shore:

Mahalova version of "Lady Be Good" by Sol Hoopi & Co!
  10:58pm absmiami:

Kansas twice and crack the Sky nunce ? Oh yes you do, Ira ...
  11:00pm absmiami:

Oh M God - that was Kevin Coyne ? !!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm Gurldoggie:

Yay! It's the first I've heard that the Tuesday line up is staying the same! Love may not be eternal, but WFMU perseveres! See you all right here FOR ALL ETERNITY!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm Gurldoggie:

... or at least for the next few months.
  11:07pm jimmytallow:

For a second, thought the Joe Tex lyric was “Baby face snake” 🤔
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm Andrew Hollywood:

Avatar 11:07pm Joe B:

Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Bruce S.:

Thats great we'll be able to share the Mets season with you this summer Ira, Georgia
  11:11pm absmiami:

Ira - that sound man at the Dream Syndicate show may have been - challenged - but couldnt have been nearly as bad as watching Gary Sanchez try to run the base paths ... just sayin '
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Barney Grubbs:

an indelible memory from my youth is standing in a long line at the LA Children’s Museum, waiting to meet Ron Cey, then half-an-hour in watching in horror as the man himself left the museum, walking past all the kids in line, a look of disgust on his mustachioed face and muttering under his breath. Still a dodger fan, but it was rough on a ten-year-old.
  11:14pm Meghanssj:

Tuned into the show a little late. Just got home from my first trip in well over a year...to a field in Tivoli, NY. Sure is nice to have a landing at home in Saint Paul that is also easy on the ears.
  11:14pm devlawn:

I'm watching baseball from a Mets park, but its Cuba vs. Canada at the Mets spring training park. Intense game.
  11:15pm devlawn:

Olympics qualifying
  11:16pm absmiami:

whoa - bet that IS a good game !
Swag For Life Member 11:16pm Bruce S.:

@devlawn sounds like a good matchup
  11:18pm garlic lover:

I love Tivoli NY
  11:19pm absmiami:

let er rip , Ira - the Lakers are down by 30 at the half - you've got no competition tonite ...
  11:20pm garlic lover:

I also love this song
  11:20pm absmiami:

really like Kohoutek - who are they ?? - maybe I need to get out more often ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm McGroovey:

This Kohoutek is catching my ears also.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Michele played "Double Star" this afternoon and the crowd declared it to be a jammer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25pm McGroovey:

Ah jeez. The Kohoutek record if £16+$12 shipping from the UK. Someone needs to put this out in the US.
  11:26pm ?:

Swag For Life Member 11:26pm Bruce S.:

@ken FHP I see Bonsey is no longer with us,but new avatar really cool. Looks like he's doing the Frug or something
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27pm McGroovey:

Ah. Feeding Tube has the Kohoutek record. Well, OK then.
  11:32pm absmiami:

I just figured out why I'm such a chronic in the Comments section - my wife doesnt let me talk during concerts - but here, I can just fire away ... sorry ...
Avatar 11:33pm Little Danny:

Colleen is the best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, McGroovey. Head-bop kitty likes the jammers!

Avatar 11:41pm Hoboken Jack:

Hello HP!
Avatar 11:41pm John L:

Tuesday's gone with the wind. Almost.
Swag For Life Member 11:50pm Ira:

Let me bring you up to speed, Jack . . . how many times did you see (a) Kansas, (b) The Good Rats, and (c) Crack the Sky? Thought about changing the verb tense, but I'm going to let it stand.
Swag For Life Member 11:57pm Bruce S.:

I can't believe how fast three hours can go by. Thanks Ira as always, great
