kpx - Well.... Last week I was stuck in a shit position and signed a buyout from my landlord that got me a few thousand, but less than my vet bills cost, and with a clause that I would not be able to sue him for anything in the future.

I was so upset and angry, that I finished all the rent grant applications and sent in an ungodly amount of supporting documents.

Today my lawyer emailed to say that I got the rent grant. So all my back rent is covered by the government, my eviction is cancelled, and the deal is off. I either get to re-negotiate a better deal for more money, but still have the "no sue" clause...

or...

just leave with no money, but get him fined by the city for violations and sue him on my own for damages.

My lawyer is calling me later today. I don't know what to do!

@The Butterman - That's a good question. I'm not a hater of the Dead by any means. One of the reasons why I only enjoy some of their music instead of thinking the it's GREAT is that the Dead had 2 drummers but the barely did anything interesting with it. Whereas Jaki Liebezeit is only 1 drummer who sounds like 2 drummers plus a side percussionist.

@RRN - HYave you read Heads by WFMU's own Jesse Jarnow. I read it a few months back and thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually gained a lot of new insights into Dead culture. (Sorry if I've asked you tis before)
