Ike, spot on mate! Cheap sets, dodgy effects & shonky creature costumes I can deal with, it's the Who tradition. But FFS pay some decent writers! There is Sci-Fi & Horror homage, then there is outright imitation. & give me a story arc I can suspend my disbelief over, not scoff at.

revisit his Doc oneday. He is daggy & scattered & the writing has a nice comedic irreverence to support his efforts. He's in my top two. Tom Baker is my main man, John Pertwee era scared shit outa me, so scores there. Capaldi is a great Doc, but some shit scripts & scenario,. Jody is great too, but made token by the scrikts she has to mouth.
