@bunyan - yes, the Bolcom reminds me of that piece by John Adams as well!! Adams wrote 'Short Ride' three years before Bolcom's Fifth Symphony

That massive collection of sharps in the pic at the top of the playlist is from the Grieg Stimmung, Op. 73. From AGITATO to FEROCE #####

Well Tuned/ Good Mood, reminds me that Germans also have an accusatory way of telling someone they are in an exceptionally good mood by a saying something like; 'You are smiling like a honey horse." In German it must be something like Honig Pferfd ? Which is a nice image...

One of 💤 Mals is either dreaming of Lapins or moving limbs in sync with Lott’s piece (not the metal band Salems Lott)

Bethany Ryker:

@Trimegistus, Tierkries is so great! I lament not taking out a loan to get one of the Reuge music boxes specially crafted for that piece. Maybe they are still out there??

Nothing *accidental* about all those sharps and flats in the playlist-image score.

I was names after George Antheil!
  8:59pm

It's hard to appreciate in recent times how outrageous people like Antheil were regarded then...
Avatar 8:59pm

George Antheil : Pride of Trenton , NJ !
funny to read the wiki where it is written his music caused a riot ( Happily for the avant guardists) 'The riot was filmed and may in fact have been engineered, as the Marcel L'Herbier movie L'Inhumaine needed a riot scene set in a concert hall. In the audience were Erik Satie, Darius Milhaud, Man Ray, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, and Francis Picabia. "
