Good day to you Feldpausch

Hallooo!

This track is nutty. Like, Casio cumbia?
  11:26am Eric Kilkenny:

Welcome to the new time slot folks! Hello WR, Hello Krys O
  11:29am Eric Kilkenny:

Welcome, Mr Fab. Currently playing songs in the key of C. If anybody has any key requests shout em out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Krys O.:

Robot Detective looks swell!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am WR:

Was wondering if Af-Tor is some anime franchise and search only has results about the Wico of Chicago pinball machines.
  11:37am Eric Kilkenny:

Yeah WICO is a pinball machine biz that went out of biz... I think this might have been the only thing they produced. I met the designer. I think the machine was never fully finished.. the designer had a falling out with wico and then they folded
  11:38am Eric Kilkenny:

there was supposed to be a series of 3 of them that were all this mad max/af-tor story
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am WR:

And will take a look at Robot Detective later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Carmichael:

Heya Eric and jungle dwellers.
  11:47am Eric Kilkenny:

Hola Carmichael, hope you're doing swell today.

Good morning, Eric and all!
AF-TOR, to be read as Af-Tor or A.F.(Alternate Future Tor) or all caps screaming. My post apocalyptic speak is a little rusty.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm Otis:

I like that too, tons Feld.

I’m patiently waiting for a vacuum to arrive - that’s the level of excitement around here today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm Otis:

A new vacuum is VERY exciting!
Avatar 12:04pm solo mon:

VERY very very, I can’t wait to fire it up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Otis:

Upright or hand vac... or both?
Avatar 12:07pm solo mon:

It’s a shark upright bagless with special pet attachment.

Still rocking a Filter Queen around here. 30 years? My parents and in-laws have the same. Greatest vacuum ever. You could say they really suck.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Krys O.:

Talking vacuums! My heart. My dad worked at Electrolux for years. When he retired, he would fix or refurbish vacuum cleaners and give them away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Otis:

A refurbished vacuum as a gift... so nice of your pop Krys!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Krys O.:

Had an old 50s model that my dad spray painted gold. That thing worked great until the mid-90s. I have a Hoover now with pet attachments and a HEPA filter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Krys O.:

@Otis: Said vacuum figured prominently in the video for Stevie's song, You Love Me Do Something.

youtu.be...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Otis:

Fantastic Krys! Watching now, mashing up Medium Cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Threemoons:

I need a better vacuum cleaner. Looking at the Sharks. My Mom got a Dyson refurb and it's actually a POS.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Krys O.:

HA!
Avatar 12:17pm solo mon:

In Portland there’s a vacuum museum. Worth a visit for sure. A lot of beautiful models!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Otis:

Now, matching up the video with the music here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Threemoons:

In the meantime, my Excitement for the Day has been taking delivery of a large can of very high quality olive oil. Even though I live within walking distance of a Greek supermarket, my work schedge has been so messed up that I can't seem to get over there before they close, and I also didn't want to have 85% of my carrying capacity taken up by a can of oil....
Avatar 12:19pm solo mon:

The shark came highly recommended from a friend who has a long hair cat, which is new to me. Fluffy and cute but the hair is like another level of debris I have never encountered.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Krys O.:

Yup, Dyson is crap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Threemoons:

I need one with one of those long extender things to vacuum the tops of things/under things.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Otis:

You can never (I can never too) have too much Olive Oil.
  12:20pm Andres:

I am told a Lilly Brush is excellent for dealing with pet hair. Fellow cat and dog owners, I feel your pain.
Avatar 12:20pm solo mon:

Eye love good olive oil!! Exciting
Avatar 12:20pm BC Sterrett:

Our shark robo vacuum was bunk. Wasn't long before that was returned.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Krys O.:

@Solo Mon: I've seen the website for the vacuum museum.

I cherish my Electrolux keyring.

EVOO is the GOAT.
Avatar 12:21pm BC Sterrett:

Love me some R. Stevie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Threemoons:

@Otis I re-discovered the joy of oil-poaching veggies recently and used up the last of a can of very good Moroccan stuff. Poached raw green almonds and fresh favas with garlic; poured mix over a raw blend of onion, mint, and some other veggies. Super amazing on the brown rice/black lentil combo that I wanted to finish up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Threemoons:

So what DO you all like for a vacuum cleaner? Me=1BR; no issue with finding outlets so would prefer wired not wireless as wireless ones tend to suck (or not; you get my point).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Krys O.:

Electrolux is expensive. Not sure where they're made now. The factory used to be in Connecticut. Hoover is reliable. Never had a Shark. Bought a basic Oreck for my mom and it seemed decent.
Avatar 12:24pm solo mon:

OMGX dying over this lillybrush I need them all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Threemoons:

My Mom had an ANCIENT turquoise Electorlux canister vac. Again, she had that from before she was married and the motor only gave out a few years ago. Sigh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Otis:

Sounds amazing Threemoons. I shower so much with Olive Oil. Same can be said of my love for Garlic, breath be damned, give me more.
Avatar 12:28pm StringOFperils:

I love those old green Electrolux machines. My grandmother had one. If I were a witch, I'd ride one of those.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Krys O.:

Electrolux's 1930s canister design with sled rails was an iconic design.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Krys O.:

SCTV had a parody commercial with Andrea Martin as Sophia Loren selling olive oil as an after-bath moisturizer. She slides all over the place!
Avatar 12:29pm solo mon:

I prefer bagless, upright and not wireless. I have not tried the sharks yet but hated the dyson we got a few years ago and the long hair from née kitty finally murdered it dead last month. I’ve been vacuuming the house w a shop vac for tha last few weeks. So the bar is low I will be happy if it does anything
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Otis:

I have a working/so-so black and decker hand vac and an upright. Does the job. All hardwood here so just use it on rugs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Krys O.:

LOL!
Avatar 12:31pm solo mon:

Sophia Loren SCTV at your command!

Avatar 12:32pm StringOFperils:

I've been using a Shop-Vac for the last 25 years or so. Form follows function. A bit loud though
Avatar 12:32pm solo mon:

I love this skitsplanation from EK
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Otis:

I like this domestic everyday house cleaning talk. Vacuums rule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Threemoons:

Anyone try a Kenmore vac?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Threemoons:

My long-gone Basset/Beagle mix that I grew up with hated that huge Electrolux; she was convinced that it was evil and tried to bite it every time Mom brought it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Otis:

Great Robert Palmer track! Love this song!!

EK.G - Have you heard Bryan Ferry cover it with Todd Terje, becomes a slow dreamy jam.
  12:34pm Eric Kilkenny:

I don't think I have heard it
Avatar 12:34pm solo mon:

I live the Todd terje version!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Threemoons:

@StringofPerils i was considering one also

Avatar 12:36pm solo mon:

  12:37pm Andres:

I will reserve laundry stain talk for next week so we can focus on vacuums, pet hair, and olive oil.
  12:37pm Eric Kilkenny:

i probably have heard it.. I just can't remember heh I'm going to listen for sure that Todd Terje guy always does great work
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Otis:

Haven't heard the Robert Palmer version original in a few years, that was super nice flashback.
