Delia was cheated in life...

No she wasn't. She made a living doing what she enjoyed.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm brainiac:

You are correct, Krys. But the funeral is prohibitively expensive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Niall:

She had her demons, they say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Niall:

And, given that she was a woman in England in her profession, I'll take it as granted that she was cheated professionally, like Oram and others in similar positions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm The Oscar:

Afternoon! In addition to Sisters with Transistors, there's a really interesting new film coming out about Delia-- sort of a combination documentary/biopic/performance film (with Cosey Fanni Tutti remixing some of Delia's lost tapes). It's an odd watch, but it's kind of mesmerizing.
  3:49pm The Butterman:

PR1920, met a substitute teacher today who spent a lot of time at the Fillmore East back in the day. Dead, Janice, Jimi, Allman’s, etc. He was standing uncomfortably close to me ( even by pre-covid standards) and I couldn’t concentrate on what he was saying because all I could think was “ back the fuck up old man!”but I’m too much of a wuss to actually tell him this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Niall:

There've been a couple documentaries about her over the years; I'm no great anglophile, but I could listen to her Oxbridge diction reading the phone book.
Avatar 3:51pm James Douglas:

I keep waiting to hear Pink Floyd's "I'm not afraid of dying, any time will do."
Avatar 3:52pm Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen:

and here i was thinking about how brilliant this is...to each there own i guess, but nobody's forcing anyone to listen 🤷‍♂️
  3:52pm The Butterman:

I am my aunt ( mother’s sister) who passed right around the time of my conception.
  3:52pm Sam:

Avatar 3:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

This British fortitude. Keep Calm & Pass Away. Surprisingly Buddhist a lot of it. Wonder who this 'sample' represents...
  3:53pm Polyus:

My biggest fear about dying is being an inconvenience to someone else. “Really sorry you had to put up with this, there’s a $20 on the dresser. Cheers!”
  3:55pm Sam:

I’m scared of being on my death bed and thinking about all the stuff I should’ve done and so easily could’ve if I’d thought it through and made a tiny bit of effort.

@Sam: Or you could just forget about the past - and think back to that moment, which is happening right now, after you've had Delia Derbyshire's sermon delivered to you - whereupon you resolved to make the best of every moment, every awesome and crazy project idea (so awesome you're afraid to even try, lest you actuallly succeed at it), every oppurtunity for genuine friendship and closeness (to the extent you need it) -- moving forward
