@BigP0ppa: I remember trading metal tapes in Sunday school at around that age. Iron Maiden was featured, of course

I remember getting an Anthrax tape of the same older kid but finding them dull. And then Sound of White Noise was released which is a top 100 album for me full stop. Maybe even top 50 (I'm not a metal fan so thats high). Recently Ive learned that Sound of WHite Nosie is generally disliked amongst ANthrax fans which is a shame. Maybe its too hooky/poppy. Anyway ....

Each show is a different blend, Master Cedric. Were you named after the character in IVANHOE?

?:

Edwin Oslan:

Howdy! Joining late, but immediately enjoying this melodic power/prog metal!
  4:42am
Edwin Oslan:

Ah, it looks as though this entire show was focusing on the more melodic clean vocal side of metal.

Greetings, Master Edwin. Surely a revisit to the archive will bring you some treats.

Edwin Oslan:

Will do for sure. I actually got the Roadrunner 1997 reissue of Them. It was just my birfday, so I splurged. It was $20!

FROM SILENT NIGHT, written in a dungeon cell before the poet was executed:
From silent night, true register of moanes
From saddest Soule consumde with deepest sinnes
From hart quite rent with sighes and heavie groanes
My wayling Muse her wofull worke beginnes.
And to the world brings tunes of sad despaire
Sounding nought else but sorrow, griefe and care.
Sorrow to see my sorrowes cause augmented
And yet lesse sorrowfull were my sorrowes more
Griefe that my griefe with griefe is not prevented
For griefe it is must east my grieved sore.
Thus griefe and sorrow cares but how to grieve
For griefe and sorrow must my cares relieve.
If any eye therefore can spare a teare
To fill the well-spring that must wet my cheekes
O let that eye to this sad feast draw neere
Refuse me not my humble soule beseekes
For all the teares mine eyes have ever wept
Were now too little had they all beene kept.

Bill Zebub:

We entered the heart of darkness.
And in the dead of light,
The Seventh Angel poured his vial into the air.
Embosomed in my Temple is a statue bereft of life.
Sweet umberbird, lighten her eyes lest she sleeps the sleep of death,
For she has seen the Face of God and her life must be preserved.
We met Luvadea, Daughter of mine,
And crowned her with emeralds and innocence.
But she was wearing the cobalt raiment of the Angel of Death.
Your bloodstained hair sears me in a sea of snakes,
A sun of amaranths,
With rays crawling on the Fields of Tears.
Adorn me in your torpid temple
And forgive me if I cannot wake this dormant smile in your eyes.
The Cyllenian god did love my sweet music forlorn.
Elohim, Elohim Sabaoth, Eloï Shaddaï, Adonaï,
Y H V H
When the sun remains silent,
I will lay my angels down,
For the Arch of my Temple is a parchment of blood.
Even death has fled from me.
I have seen the Face of God
And yet my life has been preserved.
The Bride of the Lamb poured herself into me.
And Despair fell on us,
As if we had entered the heart of darkness...
