Composer/jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard discusses his Oscar-nominated score for Spike Lee's Netflix Vietnam war drama "Da 5 Bloods" and Tim Van Patten's HBO series "Perry Mason," the soundtracks for which will be available from Milan Records and WaterTower Music, respectively. Terence performed on Spike's soundtracks since 1988's "School Daze," scoring the majority of them since 1991's "Jungle Fever," including 2018's Oscar-nominated "BlacKkKlansman." He grew up in New Orleans with Wynton and Branford Marsalis before joining Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in the 1980s and releasing over 20 albums as a bandleader or co-bandleader.
