"Rotating hosts, give 'em a spin!"
It's all too much but it may not be enough.

I remember how it felt as this was emerging. It was so late at night. I had no idea it was coming. Still one of my favorite moments ever.

Been listening to a lot of Beatles isolated multitracks lately, so this was on my mind
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Webhamster Henry:

I did a funny remix of "Birthday" with the isolated tracks out of synch. I'm working on another one that's in 7/8.

I finally found a way to not have to read this every time
Avatar 4:11pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh this one's going to be hard to playlist
Avatar 4:15pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

This one at the free103point9 loft was a month before the WFMU show that we started with, so there is some overlap in samples used. But to very different effect, I think.

I was just getting takeaway for lunch and at the taco stand, the counter person kept going "number nine? number nine? number nine?"
I was the only one who laughed and I am pretty sure they thought I was insane.

@Henry I have had a fondness for bringing isolated tracks out of sync since since some 1997 or 1998 shows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm

@Kenzo I also got my first Beatle Boot CD at the Elk's Club WFMU Record fair.

Did they say why they want to terminate my command?
Avatar 4:24pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Looks like I did some unsynching experiments in this July 1998 show: lastever.org... (no audio, it's still on a cassette)

Those Hanna-Barbera sound effects trigger weird things in my subconscious. Like I'm gonna get clobbered by something or run in place, unable to contact the ground with my feet or get stuck running in a repeating background.
Avatar 4:24pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Jane!
Avatar 4:25pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Yeah, the repeating background. Note Yellow Submarine image up above, perhaps same animators?

@Rich several CDs of H-B sound effects are available on Archive.org.
Avatar 4:25pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

omg that Microsoft sound
Avatar 4:26pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

This is indeed a peculiar set of things to hear at once. It's like that moment between the monkeys and the spaceships in 2001
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm
Rich in Washington:

Someone made a YouTube video of an entire H-B archive and I've played as many tabs of it as possible in my browser and it's absolutely maddening.

Hey that was the Nero CD done burning sound
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm

I did a more orchestrated bunch of cartoon sound effects for the WFMU-WKCR Radio War. jhhl.net...

Otis Fodder has done a couple shows where he just played things from his sample collection for three-four solid hours. It's insane.

The Magic Garden was the TV show that first caused me to figure out that TV wasn't real, that Carole and Paula were not actually in my living room, that the entire thing had been a illusion and I'd been deliberately tricked.
