Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning 12539, Ruth Booth, Niall (and welcome back!), and Diana in Hungary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04am Niall:

@Jeffrey - and if you don’t know Langmuir (you prolly already do), boy, you ought to: lankum.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05am Niall:

The “Fire Draw Near” podcast is created by one of the lads from Lankum. I’ve been listening obsessively since a friend clued me in last week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Sylvia!
@Niall: thanks for the tip on the podcast. I do know Lankum, and that album The Livelong Day, is fantastic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07am Nulsh:

Mornin' folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07am Diana in Hungary:

"3b3b3b" reminds me ever so slightly of the beginning of Hannah Marcus's "Hairdresser in Taos."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33am Jeffrey Davison:

@Niall: I'm with you...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33am Diana in Hungary:

@Jeffrey Hannah Marcus's band The Wingdale Community Singers (with Rick Moody, David Grubbs, and others) has been playing shows here and there, I think. I don't think they've put out another album since Night, Sleep, Death in 2013, but that one's fantastic. Hannah has also been collaborating with Matana Roberts and working on some other projects.
  6:34am CR Bard:

Good morning. Nice beginning on a cool morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning CR Bard!
@Diana: thanks for the info. The Wingdale folks have not put out that much stuff also, but glad that they're still together. I didn't know about Hannah and Matana collaborating, though...

Your show is soothing the exact brain lobes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56am Nulsh:

What a bloody marvellous set Jeffrey!
Damn! It just stopped!
Swag For Life Member 6:57am 12539:

The stream stopped on my internet radio, but when I checked from my laptop, it was working. Either it picked up again or it dropped from just the internet radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57am Nulsh:

Stream is back thankfully.
Might have been my connection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58am Jeffrey Davison:

Thanks TheoC and Nulsh!
@12539: I don't think it was you, and glad it's back...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00am John Dalton:

There was a problem with the stream server. I kicked it and it seems to be resolved.
Avatar 7:01am Toutevoix:

  7:01am TheoC in Sharon CT:

Diana in Hungary, I lived at 7 Jókai tér in Pest for a year and a half... where do you live?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01am Baja Joe:

@12539: Had the same happen, then came back when I restarted stream.
Avatar 7:01am Toutevoix:

( boycott amazon, by the way if I may...) sorry
Avatar 7:03am Toutevoix:

thanks for the show, appreciated!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am Diana in Hungary:

@TheoC Great location! I live in Szolnok, about 111 kilometers south of Budapest. I've been here since late 2017 and intend to stay, except for visits to the U.S. here and there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06am Diana in Hungary:

Correction: I meant SE of Budapest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07am Jeffrey Davison:

@CR Bard and Baja Joe: all is well now.
@John Dalton: thanks!
@Toutevoix: much appreciated, and yes, I try and avoid amazon...not so easy sometimes.
  7:11am TheoC in Sharon CT:

So cool! I’m the opposite, visiting friends every two years, although the pandemic screwed that up... went there with my best bud, he stayed and I ended up in Williamsburg, BK for 23 years... we landed in Hungary January 2nd 1990
  7:13am earthwalker:

Hi All !
  7:13am Cooh John:

Good morning Jeffery, Ruth, Sem, et. al. Getting up late but catching some of the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning earthwalker and Cooh John!
Avatar 7:15am Fredericks:

Jeffrey, inspired by your endlessly wonderful discoveries, I finally joined Bandcamp. However, the first artist I looked for, Good Luck Mountain, only had one song available and it sounded nothing like the piece I recall you playing. What am I doing wrong?
  7:15am TheoC in Sharon CT:

Jeffrey Davidson, beautiful show!
Avatar 7:17am Toutevoix:

I know @amazon we might have to think twice and be fast... yes, those pandemic times... & them making even more profit out of it, being more repressive and violent, this is no work this is social regression agressive model, this is closing down libraries cultural spaces, alternative and so on... human consumer, irritable numbers...Extremes at their max.....how could we be proud of human being? This cannot be a model, this is a violent world extremes may change someday, hoping for my child to find her way out there... ♡ keep on pushing people be strong ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Avatar 7:17am Toutevoix:

Thanks for the show!!
Avatar 7:17am duke:

Good morning Shrinkers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Fredericks...lemme check.
Thanks Theo and Toutevoix!
Good morning duke!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19am Diana in Hungary:

@TheoC Wow! that's very cool. It must be interesting to see the changes over the years and to have the connection with Pest and Hungary. I teach at a high school here and have been translating poetry and prose in my own time. Also I love biking around the country--taking the bike on the train to Tokaj tomorrow and biking around the area as much as possible while still getting back home before Covid-curfew....

And yes, I agree, beautiful show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21am Jeffrey Davison:

@Fredericks: here is the link:
  7:24am Andy:

Just got a cassette from Beautiful Burning World in the mail the other day, shipped from somewhere in the UK. I’ve got a cassette deck in the laundry room for playing Bandcamp ambient (largely discovered on this here show).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Andy! Right now, I have no cassette deck or player of any kind. Went to check out a nice old Sony portable that I hadn't used for years and found it was no longer working, and not sure why that might be, but it would be too expensive to fix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27am Doug in JC:

Good morning everyone. Tape deck failure is almost always caused by stretching / decay of the rubber bands that drive the gears. Usually not too hard to DIY but it's pretty hard to find the right rubber bands these days
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29am Nulsh:

I have an old Sony cassette player that has aux input and a port for my Minidisc! It sits in my studio and is covered in paint and other crap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29am Doug in JC:

Well, I hadn't looked in a while but it looks like Amazon carries a lot of sizes
  7:33am TheoC in Sharon CT:

Tokaj! With the wine cellars carved from stone! Funny my friends in BP use the bike trails extensively, mostly headed to Wien and around Ballaton, would really like to go with them... Translating poetry and teaching sounds szép😎... I own an art gallery in Sharon, CT, called, Standard Space
  7:33am Kevino:

Listening in a dangerous time - already got bit by a tick. Thanks for the melodic medicine 💊💉
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Doug in JC, and thanks! It's an old machine, but I will have a look at it.
Good morning Kevino, and hope you're okay!
@Nulsh: that's excellent.
  7:35am TheoC in Sharon CT:

BTW, living overseas, in Hungary... it changed my life
Avatar 7:37am Fredericks:

Thanks so much, Jeffrey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38am Roger:

Good Morning Jeffrey and folks
Swag For Life Member 7:42am Ted in Montclair:

Good morning Jeffrey and people. Well we made it to Easter, thanks be given Looking outside, it’s cold, clear, sunny and still. Just the way I like my Easter weekends. Hope everybody’s OK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Roger and Ted!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am Baja Joe:

Much of the sound this morning is giving me a Sigur Rós vibe. Is it just me?
Avatar 7:46am Toutevoix:

Floating out there
Come together by listening
Soundwaves spreading
Helps get you thru
Those weird times in which we are alive
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am Jeffrey Davison:

@Baja Joe: I think you're onto something! I didn't think of them, though.
@Toutevoix: thanks again!
  7:52am Andy:

Oh man, Constance Demby, Hearts of Space! Speaking of sitting in laundry rooms with cassette decks tuned to the local NPR affiliate. Eighties childhood flashback vibes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am Jeffrey Davison:

Constance Demby recently passed...
Swag For Life Member 7:57am Ted in Montclair:

@Diana in Hungary: my wife used to be a music teacher trained in the Kodaly method She took a great trip there in 1980 and visited a bunch of schools in different cities to hear kids singing. She loved the trip, especially the pastry and coffee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57am melinda:

Good morning Buddha and SmokinJ, and thanks!
  8:13am kevlicki:

Morning all!
DOUG, now I’m scrambling to figure out what I did with that old cassette deck! It had been in storage for 20years and that sounds like what went wrong with it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am Diana in Hungary:

@Ted in Montclair That must have been a beautiful tour. Some of my students went to a Kodaly school for elementary school.
@TheoC I can imagine that it changed your life. It's changing mine bit by bit every day, I think.
Avatar 8:15am Buddha of Suburbia:

"Buddha and SmokinJ" sounds like a cool band name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15am Nulsh:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am Doug in JC:

@kevlicki When you hit play, listen for a humming sound like it's running, but the spindles aren't moving. Almost definitely the drive bands in that case
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Kevlicki!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20am TheoC:

@Diana in Hungary, I almost moved back in 2017, had a job and apartment lined up... Do you know a kids book and poet named Ildiko Szigeti?
Avatar 8:25am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hi NUuuuuLLLSShhh! Loving the new art and animation on Insta!
Avatar 8:26am Marc Francis:

What a strange and lovely song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27am Jeffrey Davison:

Nulsh! How goes!

Hey, Doug, Boodz, all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35am Nulsh:

Handy! Howdy amigo! All good cheers.
You got plans to put a dent in the Scottish economy today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35am Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Handy Haversack!
@Marc F: the artist still makes decent money for any purchase on Bandcamp, but of course those Fridays are best for them...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am Doug in JC:

Good morning Handy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am Handy Haversack:

Hopes for success, at the very least, Nulsh! But I confine my predations to Edinburgh, at least, too!

Jeffrey, I don't get to listen as often as I wish, but I did get your premium this year.
Avatar 8:39am Marc Francis:

@Jeffrey Davison:
Oh yeah. I know it! I am one of them. I just love giving that little extra on Bandcamp Friday, ya know?
Avatar 8:41am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hi ya Handy! Nulsh, things are good. We're hosting an Easter egg hunt at our place tomorrow. Did you like the Good Friday I posted on Insta with Nounours?
