Avatar 2:01pm BC Sterrett:

Hey there Notso!
Avatar 2:02pm Herk Hilligoss:

oops, I mean (cough cough) I bid you Velcome...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm notsoKWYET:

hahaha.. that reminds me of the Mitch Hedberg joke about not going to see Dr. Acula
Avatar 2:06pm Herk Hilligoss:

Didn't Ed Wood Jr. try to make a film called Dr. Acula?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm notsoKWYET:

I have no idea... but it sounds pretty on brand
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm notsoKWYET:

BC do you go all out on Halloween? or just into the records?
Avatar 2:10pm Herk Hilligoss:

I love Halloween, but I don't always dress up in crazy costumes if that's what you mean. Lots of weird movies and friends telling ghost stories is my kind of Halloween. I also like trick or treaters and making the outside of my house spooky with music etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm joe:

'ello folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm notsoKWYET:

Love that... being in the city, I've most lived in apartments so no chance of giving out candy BUT i love dressing up and everything that comes with Halloween
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm notsoKWYET:

What a sexy halloween-y song lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm notsoKWYET:

However, I can't stand horror movies unless they are super campy and have no jump scares
Avatar 2:13pm Herk Hilligoss:

Yeah, I mostly like late night monster movies. "The Manster" and stuff like that.
Avatar 2:13pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hey there Joe!
Avatar 2:14pm Herk Hilligoss:

Carnival of Souls of course being my favorite :)
Avatar 2:14pm Herk Hilligoss:

Spider Baby a close 2nd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm joe:

Dr. Acula was one of Forrest J Ackerman's nome de plumes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm joe:

A couple of years ago Alamo ran Spider Baby at their annual Halloween "lock In"Dismember the Alamo. Both of your favorites there I feel are maligned due to their Public Domain and low budget status. Both are in INCREDIBLE films.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm notsoKWYET:

one i do really like, that is kinda in the monster category, is Krampus... great x-mas movie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Frankenstein Fodder:

Hey Hey BC, tuned in at the desk. Boo!
Avatar 2:21pm Herk Hilligoss:

There were things I liked about the Krampus movie. Some of the actors reactions were kind of unbelieveable which kinda took me out of the verisimilitude. Like, "My son just got eaten.... oh well" kinda thing
Avatar 2:21pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hey there Franky Fodder!
Avatar 2:23pm Sem:

Back for more of the voodoo you do, BCS. Hello to you and all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm notsoKWYET:

it's definitely more in the dark comedy range, which is prob why i can deal with it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Little Danny:

I kinda feel for Mr. Rogers.
Avatar 2:28pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hey there Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Frankenstein Fodder:

Hi Danny, great show last night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Little Danny:

Thanks Otis! Wonderful to have you aboard.
Avatar 2:29pm Herk Hilligoss:

Had to change the order for my set list due to something not working. Got it back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm WR:

hi ho all. dipping into the stream during quick lunch break. I'm glad we could talk about this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Count Fab-ula:

Hi ho Herk! Just watched “White Zombie” the other night. Available in its entirety on the Tubes of You. SoO great. Very surreal, really, kinda Cocteau or even D Lynch. Bela’s finest moment.
Avatar 2:35pm Herk Hilligoss:

Love White Zombie! The movie not the band ha ha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm WR:

these spidey voices sound like space ghost.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm notsoKWYET:

i am so in love with this right now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm joe:

Lots of the folks doing voices here were Rankin Bass regulars.
Spidey is Paul Soles aka Hermey the Elf from Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm notsoKWYET:

i could listen to that all day
Avatar 2:44pm Herk Hilligoss:

Meow meow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm notsoKWYET:

i love knowing my dates price range
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Little Danny:

Wienie roasts also figured prominently into young dating life on 1951's "What To Do on a Date," which I know through MST3K.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm notsoKWYET:

I'm assuming you've heard the Fuzzy Folk comp put out by Jonny Trash --- it has the spin, spider, spin track on it
Avatar 3:01pm Herk Hilligoss:

This song makes me feel like doing "The Touchy"
Avatar 3:02pm Herk Hilligoss:

I have not heard Fuzzy Folk. Sounds like something up my alley!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Little Danny:

Mrs. Featherbottom vibes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm chresti:

Hi BC/Herk! Hi finders of lost things!
Avatar 3:05pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hi Chresti!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Mr Fab:

i have some of Bruce Haack's children's album (with Miss Nelson) but I never played them for my kid. Did anyone really buy those albums for their children?
Avatar 3:07pm Herk Hilligoss:

Ha, I'm making a remix by adding other Haack electronics here and there
Avatar 3:08pm Herk Hilligoss:

I wouldn't let my kids listen to some of his adult work like Haackula and Electronic Lucifer 2 probably.
Avatar 3:08pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hi Mr. Fab! Congrats on the new job!
Avatar 3:10pm Herk Hilligoss:

Found this copy of Dance Sing and Listen for a buck at a thrift store in San Antonio, Texas.
Avatar 3:11pm Herk Hilligoss:

I don't know if I'd like my kids even listening to Kimbo the TV Koala. lol
Avatar 3:14pm Herk Hilligoss:

Found this one at an antique shop in New Hamshire for 2 buck.
Avatar 3:19pm Herk Hilligoss:

Vol. 3 I had to buy online... like most of the others over the years. Gotta go slow when collecting these...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm zivilars:

Damn, I missed the Collins Kids
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm zivilars:

Love them, have some great Town Hall Party and Ranch Party TV recordings of them
Avatar 3:25pm Herk Hilligoss:

Love the Collins Kids!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Rich in Washington:

Wonderful show today! Listening while moving furniture.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm zivilars:

Mr. Fab writing about White Zombie reminds me that I should see this one again ... Saw it many years ago, but don't remember too much. Thanks for mentioning it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm zivilars:

any recommendation for good books with horror movie recommendations? like psychotronic?
Avatar 3:34pm Herk Hilligoss:

Yes! hang on...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Rich in Washington:

My grandson is finally at the age where he seems to be entertained by music and records in general. Last weekend I played him the record Too Much Noise and he really got into it. Then I played him Fat Boys and Yello and he was bouncing off the walls.
Avatar 3:36pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hi Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Rich in Washington:

I want to give him one of those indestructible Califone record players and let him go nuts with junk records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Rich in Washington:

Hiya, Herk!
Avatar 3:36pm Herk Hilligoss:

Ziv I feel the best book to start with is the "Incredibly Strange Films" book by RE/Search
Avatar 3:37pm Herk Hilligoss:

I also like the Mondo Macabro book, or Monster Magazine by Tim Paxton
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm zivilars:

Thanks, Herk – I'll definitely check all those one out! If available right now, direct order from me – your recommendation is all I need to know that those are good :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm zivilars:

just ordered ISF and MM and wow, "Monster Magazine" looks great, too ... Have to get my hands on some issues!
Avatar 3:41pm Herk Hilligoss:

My brain is doing a belly dance!
Avatar 3:42pm Herk Hilligoss:

I did the index art for the last issue of Monster Magazine ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Mr Fab:

the Psychotronic guide is handy cuz it mentions which films have musical numbers. I've been using it as a guide to record audio off the youtubes, when possible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm zivilars:

@Herb: Monster Magazine really looks great, have to check out if there's an affordable subscription to Germany somehow ... @Mr. Fab: Big Psychotronic fan here, too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Mr Fab:

That's cool, Herk. I can't really find a Monster! mag website. Where can we go to get 'em?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Mr Fab:

"Electric Lucifer 2" a CD I bought the last time i visited the Rhino Records store before they closed. :(
Avatar 3:49pm Herk Hilligoss:

The Psychotronic Book was the only book to include a review of "Frankenstein's Planet of Monsters", a 8mm sci-fi monster film by my episode artist Michael Brunelle. Lost Media Archive later remastered this film from the original U-matic source and re-issued the VHS. The Bleeding Skull book vol. 2 coming out later this summer will be talking about this film as well :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm zivilars:

another nice little book is "The Book Of Lists Horror" - sounds quite generic, not the REAL deep cuts, of course, but I like it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm zivilars:

not comparable to Psychotronic & Co. of course, though
Avatar 3:52pm Herk Hilligoss:

Mr. Fab I think Monster Magazine is mostly sold exclusively on Amazon. I think Tim is about to retire. Only one more issue coming soon!
Avatar 3:52pm Herk Hilligoss:

ooh, that sounds great Ziv!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Mr Fab:

weirdly enough, Def Jam released a Bruce Haack record, i think this one?
Avatar 3:53pm Herk Hilligoss:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Mr Fab:

yep, just looked it up - co-produced by Russell Simmons.
Avatar 3:54pm Herk Hilligoss:

Mr. Fab originally I claimed a slot on Saturdays with Wired Up moving up, but I didn't get the bank job, so it's Fridays I will stay.
Avatar 3:55pm Sem:

Lovely interlude, these past 2 hours. Thank you, HH, and see you again.
Avatar 3:55pm Herk Hilligoss:

Haackula is one of the blandest record covers in history.
Avatar 3:55pm Herk Hilligoss:

Thanks Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Mr Fab:

Aww,damn, sorry about the job. But happy to have you hear on Fride-yays.

Thanks for your congrats on my new job. Things seem to be opening up. lots of Sheena's DJs and listeners seem to be getting employed again. You're next, herk!
Avatar 3:59pm Herk Hilligoss:

Thanks Mr. Fab - Thanks for listening everyone! A bit more children's music next week + a new theme from the chapter :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm zivilars:

Great show Herk, thanks!
Avatar 4:02pm Herk Hilligoss:

Thanks Ziv!!! Thank you for coming by :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm chresti:

Thanks Herk!
Avatar 4:03pm Herk Hilligoss:

Thanks Chresti! Luckily I don't have to run to work today and can listen to Georgy Girl!
