Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm listener Rey:

Hello. Nice seque from previous show
Avatar 5:08pm david w:

Thanks Rey. Sometimes the Drummer synchronicities really work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm coelacanth∅:

ruth, i think i can figure it out... i just need some lsd and i'll get back to you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Webhamster Henry:

@Ruth thats a "salamander" in the flames, acting like an ouroboros. I'm not sure what's going on with the birds though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Webhamster Henry:

Or how much salt you really need for this potion, you really should cut down to 1/4 wheel barrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm listener Rey:

@ruth Sooo weird. The more I look at it the more questions I have. Dragon eating itself? Were two-tone tights part of the alchemist uniform? What is up with those birds??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm coelacanth∅:

the main thing is the tub or whatever it is. i mean we see smallish birds astride large birds astride dragons eating their own tails pretty often around here...but are they inside a clear cauldron or adorning the outside?
...and i have a green/white pants just like that...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm coelacanth∅:

it's a weird tub. is it salt? or is it oris root? or is it powdered dried bones of jellyfish?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm coelacanth∅:

hello doctor!

Tapioca.
Avatar 5:17pm david w:

"But here man is adding some Secret Fire salt from outer to improve operation." -- reference I posted.
  5:22pm ruth:

@webham Thanks! firesalt?? And I thought that wooden thing was a dough trencher. Secret firesalted pretzels?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm Webhamster Henry:

Burning salts are the secret ingredients of colors in fireworks. I'm sure this phenomenon was pretty mystifying to the alchemists. en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm coelacanth∅:

i add salt and cayenne powder to almost everything. fire salt.
  5:28pm ruth:

Whoa! I'm sticking with rocket pretzels
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm coelacanth∅:

(as opposed to pretzel rockets, which inevitably take themselves out)

I once got hired to film a medieval reenactment and they had 2 tone tights.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello, Ridgewoodians!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm listener Rey:

If the beach is on Staten Island, it's an outerboro ouroboros
  5:36pm ruth:

I've been waiting all week to hear this!
Avatar 5:36pm david w:

Sir Doug, hello!
Avatar 5:38pm still b/p:

Was looking up familiar face of Kirk's love interest in a Star Trek episode the other night (was Joan Collins, which I did not guess!), and learned the episode is considered THE best episode of the original series by MANY fans, critics, writers and award-givers. And I thought "Really? ...Really?" (in italics if I had 'em.) Not cuz I have any different episode to champion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm listener Rey:

Was only half-listening to the spoken intro but my ears perked up when he mentioned Bill Fitch, the amazing conga player
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Doug Schulkind:

Andrew Cyrille performed live on my show 28 (gulp!) years ago.
Avatar 5:45pm david w:

A mere wrinkle in time.
  5:48pm ruth:

Wow Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm coelacanth∅:

s b/P i can understand it, i guess, though i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be mine.
i'd have to see them all again to determine - which i'm willing but unable to do
  6:01pm ruth:

@D wasn't Tyshawn Sorey playing at that Zorn show in that chichi loft in Tribeca that we went to? I love this!
Avatar 6:01pm david w:

Re: Star Trek.... I like the one with the space hippy band when Spock jams.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm chresti:

Hi David and ruth and ridgewoodians!
  6:02pm ruth:

WOW!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Threemoons:

Heyo. Dropping in before finally showering. It's been A Day. One of those days where I couldn't get off the phone or keyboard between a job hunt and a vaccine appointment hunt. Job still pending but at least 2nd shot is scheduled!
Avatar 6:04pm david w:

@Ruth. Yes, Sorey also reads those Zorn charts perfectly, and probably runs marathons and plays Go.
Avatar 6:05pm david w:

hi, chresti!
Avatar 6:05pm david w:

Congrats to Threemoons, on the path!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm coelacanth∅:

  6:46pm hank:

Hail David !
Avatar 6:46pm david w:

No, it was just before the lockdown and I might have been wary. Can't remember.
  6:47pm ruth:

I think they would need to carry me out on a stretcher after playing at this intensity ! Truly amazing.
Avatar 6:47pm david w:

Hank! Seriously....
  6:50pm ruth:

Yes. We all have Weinstein little shrines. With offerings of incense chocolate and beer.
Avatar 6:52pm david w:

Ha. I'd go with almonds and Lagavulin, but a nice incense is always appreciated.
Avatar 6:54pm david w:

And.... thanks everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm chresti:
