11:08am Dave in St Albans UK:

And I have always wanted a Strawberry Alarm Clock album in my collection!
  11:09am chresti in worker booth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi chresti!
Avatar 11:11am Domenic:

Avatar 12:06pm Feldpausch:

Hi Jan, Domenic, Martinibomb, Dave, & Chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Feldpausch!
Avatar 12:11pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Ah great, Gainsbourg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hey PK!
Avatar 12:12pm Paper Kosmonaut:

hey Jan, Hi peoples!
Avatar 12:13pm Paper Kosmonaut:

They always seem to have recorded songs in bathrooms in the fifties.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Jan Turkenburg:

😁
Avatar 12:15pm Sem:

Hello, Jan and Donny, and FDL-ers everywhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Sem!
Avatar 12:16pm Martinibomb:

  12:17pm zzzm:

snowing, again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi zzzm!
Avatar 12:18pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Ach die Ria in der Bugt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Jan Turkenburg:

@PK, did you know Ria recorded a German version of this?
Avatar 12:19pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Der Scherriff hat sogar zwei sterne! Ein GOldene und ein braune!
Avatar 12:19pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Und ja I knew she also recorded in german.
Avatar 12:19pm Sem:

Hey, M.Bomb!
Avatar 12:20pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I think she wasn't the only one in the early sixties. It still was a potential market for Dutch musicians. The BLue Diamonds did the same, didn't they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, Blue Diamonds, Peter Koelewijn, you name it, even Boudewijn de Groot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Jan Turkenburg:

Even Mariska Veres I believe
Avatar 12:38pm Paper Kosmonaut:

'Sie hat es! Ja säugling, sie hat es! Wohl, Ich bin deiner Venus, dein Begierde!'
Zoiets? (-;
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Jan Turkenburg:

😂
Avatar 12:43pm Paper Kosmonaut:

And Reinhard 'eine zigarette' May returned the favour in the seventies with his song 'Als de dag van toen.'
Avatar 12:43pm Mr Fab:

Hi Jan, and fellow duckies. Can't have too many versions of "Caravan"! And now some Raymond Scott? These cats is COOL.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Mr. Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Jan Turkenburg:

Does anybody know the group and how their name is spelled: Tea toe, Teedo?
Avatar 12:47pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Tito, perhaps?
Avatar 12:51pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I mean, Americans are known to pronounce a certain Japanese car brand as if it were doll character from a SF saga in a universe far far away. (as for pronouncing T's and D's)
Avatar 12:52pm Feldpausch:

I get the strong impression that in general mainstream culture used to be much more sophisticated about music, using terms like Fugue and Measure regularly
Avatar 12:53pm Paper Kosmonaut:

I heard that too and it surprised me too.
  12:56pm zzzm:

lunch time here
Avatar 12:56pm Martinibomb:

I heard my name mentioned :)
Avatar 12:57pm Mr Fab:

Not tea, but I could use a Red Bull! Warm and sunny here.

sounded like "Tito And His Accordions," but I could not find any internet reference. There is an accordion group "Tito & His Swingtette," but they're from the '50s.
Avatar 12:57pm Feldpausch:

I've never heard Schiphol correctly pronounced
Avatar 12:58pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Dinner here. Eating some pasta which is a little too tomato-y. But I have no cream to tone it down.
Avatar 12:58pm Paper Kosmonaut:

SGGGGGGGGip-hol.
Avatar 12:59pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Gutturals are a bit hard for those who don't use them often.
Avatar 1:00pm Martinibomb:

@Paper just add more butter! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, I hardly use them myself anymore. Who needs them?!
Avatar 1:02pm Mr Fab:

That whole radio show sequence was wonderful, Jan. Yes, even the corny jokes. Love that stuff.
1:03pm Dave in St Albans UK:

I used to fly with KLM a lot to South America as well as the Far East. Schiphol was a pretty laid back airport hub in the 80's and 90's. As relaxed as the smooth tunes right now!
Avatar 1:04pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Nothing better than a heartfelt profanity with an avalanche of spitting gutturals and rolling R's when you have bumped your little toe against a door or table leg.
Avatar 1:05pm Paper Kosmonaut:

haha, I read 'Schiphol bog found'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Jan Turkenburg:

😁
Avatar 1:06pm Franco Twinkie:

Hi Jan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Franco!
Avatar 1:08pm Ursula1000:

good afternoon Jan and people of Sheenaverse
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Jan Turkenburg:

Ursula!
Avatar 1:09pm Franco Twinkie:

I love this record Jan. I have two copies, one in stereo and one in mono. It might be my favorite album by The Airplane.
Avatar 1:09pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Ursula potstausend! Hi there!
Avatar 1:10pm Ursula1000:

hey Paper K!
Avatar 1:11pm Paper Kosmonaut:

@ U1K: New dance!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, it's fantastic, Franco.
Avatar 1:15pm Franco Twinkie:

My friend Scott lived down the street from the Airplane mansion. It was right across from Golden Gate Park. I was not allowed to talk at his house because I scared the neighbors.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Jan Turkenburg:

hahahaha. no kiddin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Jan Turkenburg:

@Mr Fab I have another three of those Chesterfield shows for the coming weeks.
Avatar 1:32pm Martinibomb:

What made ya play the Wolf today??
Avatar 1:32pm Mr Fab:

yes, looking forward to those, Jan!
Avatar 1:32pm Mr Fab:

its his airport theme, MB.
Avatar 1:36pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 1:37pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

I love the flutes in this.
Avatar 1:41pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 1:43pm Martinibomb:

Flute, Electric Piano and Electric Bass go together rather well
Avatar 1:43pm Paper Kosmonaut:

Oh that almost chique old Dutch of Wim Sonneveld...
