Hey, M.Bomb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I think she wasn't the only one in the early sixties. It still was a potential market for Dutch musicians. The BLue Diamonds did the same, didn't they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, Blue Diamonds, Peter Koelewijn, you name it, even Boudewijn de Groot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Even Mariska Veres I believe

Hi Jan, and fellow duckies. Can't have too many versions of "Caravan"! And now some Raymond Scott? These cats is COOL.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Mr. Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Does anybody know the group and how their name is spelled: Tea toe, Teedo?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Tito, perhaps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I mean, Americans are known to pronounce a certain Japanese car brand as if it were doll character from a SF saga in a universe far far away. (as for pronouncing T's and D's)
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:52pm
Feldpausch:

I get the strong impression that in general mainstream culture used to be much more sophisticated about music, using terms like Fugue and Measure regularly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I heard that too and it surprised me too.

Not tea, but I could use a Red Bull! Warm and sunny here.

sounded like "Tito And His Accordions," but I could not find any internet reference. There is an accordion group "Tito & His Swingtette," but they're from the '50s.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:57pm

I've never heard Schiphol correctly pronounced
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, I hardly use them myself anymore. Who needs them?!
Avatar 1:02pm
Mr Fab:

That whole radio show sequence was wonderful, Jan. Yes, even the corny jokes. Love that stuff.
  1:03pm
Dave in St Albans UK:

I used to fly with KLM a lot to South America as well as the Far East. Schiphol was a pretty laid back airport hub in the 80's and 90's. As relaxed as the smooth tunes right now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Nothing better than a heartfelt profanity with an avalanche of spitting gutturals and rolling R's when you have bumped your little toe against a door or table leg.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

haha, I read 'Schiphol bog found'.
