Guess Kris is struggling with the cold and rolling blackouts. I’m just grateful that the grid hasn’t failed here. Considering how bad Entergy is at maintaining the grid, it’s dumb luck that we’re not getting rain till it warms up tomorrow. Happy Mardi Gras everyone aside for the antipodeans out there.
Avatar 9:50pm The Knave:

Hi folks --- I'm here to hand and hold the fort!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Matt from New Orleans:

Is the color scheme an All Blacks reference?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Matt from New Orleans:

Hey Knave

Working Matt, the only days off are Christmas. Going to bed soon ..listening and sleepy lurking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Matt from New Orleans:

I saw Dr John play Storm Warning at The Ponderosa Stomp. Not a song he usually revisits.
Avatar 10:13pm Scott67:

Sleep well when it comes chresti. ✌😎❤
Avatar 10:13pm northguineahills:

This time it wasn't 5 minutes to midnight, it was actually midnight, it was 10 hrs to midnight your time, wait, it has never started 5 mins to midnight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm Matt from New Orleans:

Tuesday evenings are a rare occurrence that’s why I asked Chresti. Tell Franco I say hi.
Avatar 10:15pm Scott67:

NTH, & to add to that it's only 2:15pm Tomorrow down here.
Avatar 10:15pm Scott67:

NGH!* auto idiot will not learn your name!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Matt from New Orleans:

I may not be so lucky. They apparently have started rolling blackouts in LA so I could lose power at anytime.
Avatar 10:22pm Scott67:

G'day Cliff & Matt! ✌😎☀️
Avatar 10:24pm northguineahills:

@Scott: I use autocarrot, unfortunately, it doesn't provide a carrot. (worst blatant branding evar!)

Hi Knave..!.. didn't realize you were on tonight what's up???... I've been over listening to the bunny for a little while... I hope everything is groovy Down Under?!?...:)

Avatar 10:44pm The Knave:

@cc - filling in for brother Kris ... he's snowed in
Avatar 10:45pm Scott67:

Feeling you Knave, no air-con here either. A fan is my only luxury, and a well stocked fridge. 😉
Avatar 10:47pm Scott67:

G'day CC! 😎☀️
  10:47pm CC:

Well it's only appropriate that a brother from OZ should have that tough job!!!...:)
  10:47pm Carmichael:

San Antonio snow.
  10:48pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks for the last-minute sub, Knave. And thanks for the groovy!
Avatar 10:48pm Scott67:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm Aitch:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm Matt from New Orleans:

A nice slice on North Louisiana funk
Avatar 10:54pm Scott67:

Aussies & Kiwis are Brothers in Arms, enemies on the sports ground. Like family!
Avatar 10:54pm Cliff just Cliff:

Are there a lot of fans of soul/R&B in the antipodes btw? Just curious
Avatar 10:55pm Scott67:

Like calling a Canadian an American.
Avatar 10:57pm Scott67:

Never call an Aussie a Pom either!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Matt from New Orleans:

I’m fading. Didn’t sleep well last night because of the cold. I’m going to listen but putting my phone down. Have a good day/night everyone.
Avatar 10:58pm Scott67:

Sweet dreams Matt! ✌😎
  10:59pm Carmichael:

Whatever city you’re in ...
Avatar 11:00pm Scott67:

Cliff, not only fans, but great bands. My city of Bendigo has an annual 3 day Blues & Roots Music Festival. Well pre Covid anyway.
  11:00pm CC:

I'll be good until the power goes out!!!...:)
Avatar 11:03pm Cliff just Cliff:

Cool Scott, it'll be great once things open up for everyone & we can have live shows & festivals again. I'm so tired of being isolated.
Avatar 11:05pm coelacanth∅:

just listened to this yesterday! (only i came to it via Fela)
Avatar 11:07pm Cliff just Cliff:

::looks up Bendigo:: Looks like a lot of 19th-c architecture in your downtown, reminds me a little of Syracuse NY where I live
Avatar 11:07pm Scott67:

You are still hearing it yesterday coel. 👍😉 it's being played on Wednesday.
Avatar 11:10pm Scott67:

Cliff, a Gold Rush town, built with the money in the style of the time. There are some beautiful old buildings indeed. But some shit ugly suburbs now too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm Aitch:

He's bongomazing
Avatar 11:10pm The Knave:

hahah Scott - you are right Ginger from the Future
Avatar 11:12pm The Knave:

Now that's Giving The Drummer Radio ... or is that The Drummer Giving It To The Radio??
Avatar 11:12pm Scott67:

Avatar 11:13pm Cliff just Cliff:

Sounds a lot like us! In our case it was the Erie Canal being built through the center of town in the 1830's (?) and all the commerce it brought with it
  11:18pm CC:

Avatar 11:19pm Scott67:

Cliff, looked you up. Wow, beautiful city indeed. On a much bigger scale than Bendigo.
Avatar 11:21pm Cliff just Cliff:

Well thank you Scott, I grew up here & I don't often think of it as a beautiful city (lots of heartache for me, not the city's fault), but downtown & some other areas are quite nice.
Avatar 11:26pm Scott67:

Cliff, I hear ya. I grew up here too, lived elsewhere for years. But back now, with the same feelings. Always surprised to hear positive feed back from others about the place. It is a very easy place to live though. 😎🤙
Avatar 11:45pm coelacanth∅:

i can't imagine living now in the town i grew up in. and it cannot be called beautiful by any stretch of the imagination. it never was and last time i passed through, a couple years ago i barely recognised it.
Avatar 11:46pm Scott67:

Where's that coel?
Avatar 11:49pm Scott67:

So much of the town I grew up in is gone too. The Heritage Buildings are safe. Mut the contemporary place I knew growing up have been flattened or redeveloped.
Avatar 11:50pm coelacanth∅:

north-central new jersey Scott. with a straight shot train line to downtown manhatten (hence the new housing and office space)
  11:51pm CC:

The trick is living somewhere no one else wants to live!!!...:)
Avatar 11:51pm still b/p:

The Kay Starr song was nice.Typically only hear her Bonaparte's Retreat, Rock and Roll Waltz and Wheel of Fortune on stations that play music of the period.
Lots of good stuff tonight. Thanks!
Avatar 11:53pm Scott67:

CC, my suburb is a bit like that. But I am the only original resident in my street now.
Avatar 11:53pm northguineahills:

Gotta love an Ozzie fillin' in for a Kiwi. Back!
  11:54pm CC:

Now that everyone is virtually connected I suppose it doesn't matter???...:)
Avatar 11:55pm Scott67:

A Kiwi living in Australia, fill in for a Kiwi living in Texas that is NGH.
Avatar 11:55pm coelacanth∅:

when i was a teen they spent a fortune to "beautify" downtown so to attract shoppers, so whatever quaint small town historical thing it had was now faux-historic. fake brick sidewalks; fake antique town clock and benches (that young people were always chased away from by the cops); fake converted gas streetlamps...and of course the plan didn't work.
now, on top of the ugly, they've jammed 3-story block-like buildings everywhere.
beyond downtown is mostly standard middle-class suburbs, mostly single family homes; and a bit of industry in the other direction.
Avatar 11:55pm The Knave:

ahem - A KIWI filling in for Kiwi bro ...
Avatar 11:55pm Cliff just Cliff:

Whoa, I didn't know NGH was from NZ :D
Avatar 11:56pm coelacanth∅:

Scott @1155 with a couple've ozzies listening in of course!
Avatar 11:56pm Scott67:

Sorry to hear coel.
Avatar 11:57pm coelacanth∅:

(if Aitch is still here)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm Aitch:

Yep, waiting for Burn It Down.
Avatar 11:58pm coelacanth∅:

eh, i don't care. i always hated the town! the people suck, the cops suck.
Avatar 12:00am Scott67:

Coel, yep, me & Aitch. Among many others I hope. I'm sure Knave has some Melbourne groupies. 😉
Avatar 12:00am Cliff just Cliff:

That's too bad Coel, I hope you can find a place better to your liking
  12:02am CC:

I seem to gravitate toward all those things that make me feel at home...:)
Avatar 12:02am The Knave:

Hey cheers! Catch you for my regular show Five Miles To Midnight later in the week.

Thanks for tuning on in!!
Avatar 12:02am coelacanth∅:
