Ran out of Wake comment time so ill share this here instead Was just thinking about Louie louie (mentioned during W&B). The vocals were sung into a microphone directly above the singers head for some reason so he had to sing that entire song with his head & face pointed upward . Might account for the bizarre performance

There's this old guy who plays a glass harp (made of crystal snifters filled with varying amounts of water) in Jackson Sq. in the French Quarter sometimes. I need to find the vids I've taken of him. It's so nice at night, he has his setup all candlelit.

The Inuit and Yupik people do, in fact, have 50 words for snow. The Sami in north Nordic region (Finalnad/Sweden/Norway.) have 180 words for snow....

HI ngh, actually here on the SW coast we get less than the rest of Finland. Without snow the dark days are really a drag, with it plenty of smiles ....driving is a challenge even for folks used to it. Cheers !

I thought I'd learn Finnish with a little work. Hear it and use it everyday and still work at it ( many Finns speak English so well that they are happy to practice ...) My kids laugh uproariously when I speak Finnish!

Technically Northside, run by Rob Simonds (a founder of RYKOdisc) still exists although I think the only band Rob is still releasing is the Swedish nyckelharpa-guitar-fiddle trio Vasen. Their 2019 album Rule of 3 is on Northside in the US: www.discogs.com...

Hi Dano, Finnish is crazy difficult. They don't pre position ( as 'in' the house) they change the ending of words , even proper names instead...so you need to know dozens of ways to say one word. That makes understanding what you are hearing very difficult. FUNNY the 50 curse words for snow!
